Ka Ying Rising
Ka Ying Rising (foaled 3 September 2020), previously named Mr Express, is a champion Thoroughbred racehorse born in New Zealand and trained in Hong Kong. He is notable for winning multiple Group One, Group 1 races. He was bred by Fraser Auret in Marton, New Zealand, Marton in the Rangitikei District, Rangitikei district of the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand's North Island. Auret had trained the dam Missy Moo to win five races. Missy Moo was served by the Windsor Park Stud stallion Shamexpress. He was sold to clients of the trainer David A. Hayes, David Hayes and exported to Australia on 28 March 2023. After trialing he was sent to Hong Kong to commence his racing career. Chairman's Sprint Prize
The Chairman's Sprint Prize is a Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race in Hong Kong, run over a distance of 1200 metres. Until 2000, it was run as the Hong Kong Sprint Championship to coincide with the opening of Sha Tin Racecourse. In 2016, this race became the 4th round of the Global Sprint Challenge, and was elevated to International Group One, Group 1 status. This race offers a purse of HK$20,000,000. Jockey Club Sprint
The Jockey Club Sprint is a Group 2 set weights Thoroughbred horse race in Hong Kong, run over 1200 metres. In the 2003/2004 racing season, this race was upgraded to a domestic Group 2 event. The race was promoted to International Group 2 status in 2010. The prize money in season 2011/12 is HK$3,000,000, which was increased to HK$3,875,000 in season 2014/15. Zac Purton
Zac Purton (born 3 January 1983) is an Australian jockey who has won the most races in Hong Kong racing history and won the Hong Kong Jockeys' Championship on seven occasions. Purton is married to Nicole Purton, the daughter of Hall of Fame jockey Jim Cassidy. Zac and Nicole have two children, Cash and Roxy. Purton has won all four of the Hong Kong International Races at least once and the all-important Hong Kong Derby twice. Lauded for his tactical awareness and race planning, Zac Purton is renowned for his toughness in a finish and his superb balance, making him one of the all-time greats. The Rangitikei District is a territorial authority district located primarily in the Manawatū-Whanganui region in the North Island of New Zealand, although a small part, the town of Ngamahanga (13.63% by land area), lies in the Hawke's Bay Region.
