KVOB
KVOB (95.5 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to serve Lindsborg, Kansas, United States. The station is owned by Rocking M Media, LLC, while operated by Meridian Media, LLC under a local marketing agreement. History KVOB started as KQNS-FM in September 1988, then located on 95.9 FM with an ERP of 1.3 kW. At the time, the station carried an adult contemporary format. In 1994, B-B Broadcasting bought the station from Smoky Hill Broadcasting, and the following year, the station moved to 95.5 FM and upgraded their power to 15.5 kW. By this time, the station flipped to a mainstream rock format, branded as "Star 95." In 1999, the station flipped back to adult contemporary, keeping the "Star 95" moniker. In 2004, the station began running the "Hits & Favorites" satellite feed from Citadel Media (now Cumulus Media Networks) and changed monikers to "Lite Rock 95.5". KSAL (1150 kHz "NewsRadio 1150") is a commercial AM radio station that broadcasts a news-talk radio format. Licensed to Salina, Kansas, it serves the Salina-Manhattan area. The station is owned by Christopher Miller, through licensee Meridian Media, LLC. KSAL is powered at 5,000 watts. By day it uses a non-directional antenna. But to protect other stations on 1150 AM from interference, at night it switches to a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is on North Woodward Road in New Cambria. KZUH (92.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Minneapolis, Kansas, United States, the station serves the Salina-Manhattan area. The station is currently owned by Rocking M Media, LLC, while operated by Meridian Media, LLC under a local marketing agreement. History KZUH signed on as KILS on February 24, 1993, with a country format. In 1997, Goodstar Broadcasting bought the station and it was rebranded as "92.7 The Zoo", switching to a classic rock format. Bob FM
BOB FM is the on-air brand of a number of FM radio stations in the United States and formerly in Canada. The BOB FM format mostly concentrates on album rock, alternative rock and pop hits from the 1980s and 90s, especially those popular during the early days of MTV when music videos made up most of MTV's schedule. In broadcasting and radio communications, a call sign (also known as a call name or call letters—and historically as a call signal—or abbreviated as a call) is a unique identifier for a transmitter station. A call sign can be formally assigned by a government agency, informally adopted by individuals or organizations, or even cryptographically encoded to disguise a station's identity. The use of call signs as unique identifiers dates to the landline railroad telegraph system. Because there was only one telegraph line linking all railroad stations, there needed to be a way to address each one when sending a telegram. Jack FM is a radio network brand, licensed by Sparknet Communications, with the exception of the European Union where it is licensed by Oxis Media. It plays an adult hits format, in most cases not using DJs. Format characteristics Stations using the "Jack" name are strictly licensed by SparkNet Communications. There are several terms that each station must agree to, including the use of no disc jockeys for at least the first few months of the format. SparkNet has been protective of its format, unsuccessfully filing trademark infringement suits against Bonneville International for its use of the Jack FM trademarked slogan "Playing What We Want" and other similar phrases.
