KSAL (AM)
KSAL (1150 kHz "NewsRadio 1150") is a commercial AM radio station that broadcasts a news-talk radio format. Licensed to Salina, Kansas, it serves the Salina-Manhattan area. The station is owned by Christopher Miller, through licensee Meridian Media, LLC. KSAL is powered at 5,000 watts. By day it uses a non-directional antenna. But to protect other stations on 1150 AM from interference, at night it switches to a directional antenna with a four-tower array. The transmitter is on North Woodward Road in New Cambria. Programming is also heard on 250 watt FM translator K294DI at 106.7 MHz in Salina. On weekdays, KSAL begins with "The KSAL Morning News." KVOB
KVOB (95.5 FM) is a commercial radio station licensed to serve Lindsborg, Kansas, United States. The station is owned by Rocking M Media, LLC, while operated by Meridian Media, LLC under a local marketing agreement. History KVOB started as KQNS-FM in September 1988, then located on 95.9 FM with an ERP of 1.3 kW. At the time, the station carried an adult contemporary format. In 1994, B-B Broadcasting bought the station from Smoky Hill Broadcasting, and the following year, the station moved to 95.5 FM and upgraded their power to 15.5 kW. By this time, the station flipped to a mainstream rock format, branded as "Star 95." In 1999, the station flipped back to adult contemporary, keeping the "Star 95" moniker. KZUH (92.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Minneapolis, Kansas, United States, the station serves the Salina-Manhattan area. The station is currently owned by Rocking M Media, LLC, while operated by Meridian Media, LLC under a local marketing agreement. History KZUH signed on as KILS on February 24, 1993, with a country format. In 1997, Goodstar Broadcasting bought the station and it was rebranded as "92.7 The Zoo", switching to a classic rock format. Salina, Kansas
Salina is a city in, and the county seat of, Saline County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population was 46,889. In the early 1800s, the Kanza tribal land reached eastward from the middle of the Kansas Territory. In 1858, settlers from Lawrence founded the Salina Town Company with a wagon circle, under constant threat of High Plains tribal attacks from the west. It was named for the salty Saline River. Saline County was soon organized around this township, and in 1870, Salina incorporated as a city.
