KTRS-FM (104.7 Hertz, MHz) is a Contemporary hit radio, Top 40 (CHR) radio station in Casper, Wyoming branded as 104.7 KISS-FM (brand), Kiss FM owned by Townsquare Media. As with a majority of FM broadcasting, FM stations from Casper, the broadcast tower is located south of town on Casper Mountain. Station history KTRS was formerly on 95.5 FM. At sign on the station was owned by a company known as Wyomedia. The construction permit for the station dates to September 16, 1977. That frequency lasted from its sign-on date in 1981 until 1997. When it was on 95.5 in the early to mid 1980s, the station aired a variety Top 40 format that played everything from Diana Ross to Pat Benatar and Journey. KISS-FM is the brand name of a Top 40 music format heard on FM radio stations in many cities in the United States and overseas. iHeartMedia claims ownership of the KISS-FM brand in the United States and operates most KISS-FM formatted stations there, though not KISS-FM in San Antonio, Texas, or KISS-FM America on TuneIn. KTWO broadcasts a 50,000 watt signal from a two-tower facility located east of Casper near Hat Six Road. KWYY (95.5 FM) is a radio station in Casper, Wyoming, branded as "95.5 My Country" and carrying a country music format. The station is currently owned by Townsquare Media. History KWYY started out as KYOD, "Coyote Country, the New 104.7", at 104.7 FM in the mid-1990s as a country music station. It was moved to its current location on the FM dial in the late 1990s, after being sold by Heart Media to Mountain States Broadcasting. The station was sold to Clear Channel Radio in 1999. Casper Mountain
Casper Mountain, an anticline, is located at the north end of the Laramie Mountains overlooking Casper, Wyoming along the North Platte River. At a top elevation of , the geological feature rises approximately above Casper. Recreation Casper Mountain is largely privately owned, however there are several miles of trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. There are many recreation opportunities on the mountain. Hogadon Ski Area is one of very few ski areas with a parking/entry point located above the resort. Although small, the ski area provides a large source of winter entertainment on the mountain. Other winter activities include cross country skiing, snowshoeing, fatbiking, and snowmobiling.
