, operated on 1400 kHz from 1956 to 1987. At sign on, the station was to be known as KTOO, but when it was purchased in 1956, the calls were changed to KATI. For most of its early years, the station carried a "popular music" format. KATI upgraded from 250 watts to 1,000 watts in 1959. The station was known as "Casper's Favorite Gal". The 1400 AM frequency would be back in business in 1999 with talk radio and sports radio, with the playing of the national anthem. On February 12, 2018, KKTL changed their format from ESPN sports to classic country, branded as "AM 1400 The Cowboy". KKTL and its sister KTWO both signed on translators on FM in early 2022.
