Joshua Filler
Joshua Filler (born 2 October 1997) is a German pool player from Bönen, Germany. In 2018 Filler defeated Carlo Biado 13–10 to win the 2018 WPA World Nine-ball Championship. The same year he was the youngest player to win the China Open and 2018 10-ball European Pool Championships. Filler became WPA and Euro Tour world number 1 in 2019, and later reached the final of the 2019 WPA World Ten-ball Championship before losing 10–7 to Ko Ping-chung. Filler has also represented Europe in the Mosconi Cup, winning the MVP award at the 2017 and 2022 events . Career Filler started to play billiards at the age of seven, competing at a national level by 2007 (age 10). In 2017, Filler made his debut at the Mosconi Cup, representing Europe. Filler has been a German national champion on 11 occasions. Filler has also been successful on the Euro Tour, reaching the semi-final of the 2018 Portugal Open. 2021 Mosconi Cup
The 2021 Mosconi Cup (officially the 2021 Cazoo Mosconi Cup) was the 28th edition of an annual nine-ball pool tournament between teams representing Europe and the United States. It took place between 7 and 10 December 2021 at the Alexandra Palace in London, marking the second consecutive year that the tournament had been staged in England, and the first time since 2002 that the event did not alternate annually between the US and Europe. Sponsored by British online car retailer Cazoo, it was broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK and on networks worldwide. 2020 Mosconi Cup
The 2020 Mosconi Cup was a team nine-ball tournament, between teams representing Europe and the United States. It was the 27th edition of the competition and took place between 1–4 December 2020. The event was originally scheduled to be held at the Alexandra Palace in London, however it was moved to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry with the whole event behind closed doors in a Covid-19 secure bubble. The coronavirus pandemic also affected the team selection, with Corey Deuel replacing Justin Bergman for Team USA after Bergman tested positive for Covid-19. Team USA were defending champions, having won the two previous tournaments. After a close first day, Team Europe were 3-2 ahead but only lost one further match, winning the cup 11-3. Jayson Shaw won the Most Valuable Player award for the first time after winning all his singles and doubles matches. Christoph Reintjes is a German professional pool player. He is best well known for being the runner-up at the 2017 Dutch Open. Career Reintjes first competed in Euro Tour events in 2007, where he reached the last 32 in his first professional competition, at the 2007 German Open. He would play Tony Drago, but lose 9-10. He would enter three competitions this season, but would only make the knockout round on this occasion. In 2008, he would once again reach the knockout rounds of Euro Tour events, at the Swiss and Austrian Opens, losing to Marcus Chamat 8–9, and Bruno Muratore 5–9. A year later, Reintjes went further at the 2009 French Open. He would defeat Imran Majid 9–8 in the last 32, before losing to Mark Gray 9–3 in the last 16. The event has been dominated by the Philippines and China, with both nations winning the event on three occasions. The World Pool Masters is an annual international nine-ball tournament. Formerly, it was called the European Pool Masters (until 1995) until players from other parts of the globe were invited. History Throughout much of its history, the tournament has been featuring sixteen world-class pool players, competing in single-elimination format. In 2010, the number of players was doubled to 32. The first round of the event was played in double elimination with the second round in single-elimination.
