Jim Muhwezi
Major General (retired) Jim Muhwezi Katugugu is a Ugandan lawyer, politician and former military officer. He has served as the Cabinet Minister for National Security, in the Ugandan Cabinet, since 8 June 2021. From March 2015 until May 2016, he served as the Minister of Information and National Guidance in the Cabinet of Uganda. He had been appointed to that position in a cabinet reshuffle on 1 March 2015, replacing Rose Namayanja, who was dropped from the cabinet. Also, he is the Member of Parliament (MP) representing Rujumbura County, Rukungiri District. He regained that seat in 2021, having lost it for five years between 2016 and 2021. Military Officer
An officer is a person who holds a position of authority as a member of an armed force or uniformed service. National Resistance Movement
The National Resistance Movement (; abbr. NRM) has been the ruling party in Uganda since 1986. History The National Resistance Movement (NRM) was founded as a liberation movement that waged a guerrilla war through its rebel wing National Resistance Army (NRA) that toppled the government in 1986. According to the National Resistance Movement, it restored political stability, security, law and order, constitutionalism and the rule of law to Uganda. Uganda Bush War
The Ugandan Bush War was a civil war fought in Uganda by the official Ugandan government and its armed wing, the Uganda National Liberation Army (UNLA), against a number of rebel groups, most importantly the National Resistance Army (NRA), from 1980 to 1986. The unpopular President Milton Obote was overthrown in a coup d'état in 1971 by General Idi Amin, who established a military dictatorship. Amin was overthrown in 1979 following the Uganda-Tanzania War, but his loyalists started the Bush War by launching an insurgency in the West Nile region in 1980. Kampala (, ) is the Capital city, capital and largest city of Uganda. Law Development Center
The Law Development Centre (LDC) is an educational institution in Uganda for higher learning that offers various legal courses ranging from one month to one year. Overview The LDC is the only institution in Uganda that offers the Bar Course leading to the award of the post-graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. In the early 2000s, the LDC was plagued by a high failure rate among students, as high as 90 percent in some years. The LDC, together with the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and the Uganda Law Society, have designed changes that include a pre-admission written examination for students, continuing education requirements for LDC lecturers, and instruction in teaching methods for all academic staff. Rukungiri District is a district in the Western Region of Uganda. The town of Rukungiri is the site of the district headquarters. Namayanja Rose Nsereko (born 18 August 1975) is a Ugandan lawyer, columnist, author, security sector manager and politician. She is the current Deputy Secretary General of Uganda's ruling party. Namayanja is a former National Treasurer of Uganda's ruling party, The National Resistance Movement (NRM). She is also the former Minister of Information and National Guidance in the Cabinet of Uganda, a position she held from 23 May 2013, until 1 March 2015. Prior to that, she served as Minister of State for Luwero Triangle in the Prime Minister's office, from 27 May 2011 until 24 May 2013. She replaced Thembo Nyombi, who was appointed State Minister for Information Technology.
