Jean-Michel Ménard
Jean-Michel Ménard (born January 19, 1976) is a Canadian curler from Aylmer, Quebec. Ménard is notable for being the first Francophone skip from Quebec to win the Brier - Canada's national curling championship- which he did in 2006. In 2022 he won the World Mixed Curling Championship. Career Ménard had a 5-7 record at the 1996 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, and would return to a national championships at the 2000 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. He would return to the mixed in 2001, winning the tournament. Ménard found himself on the team of Guy Hemmings as his second in 2003, which they won the Quebec championships sending them to the 2003 Nokia Brier. At the Brier, they finished 6-5, just out of the playoffs. In 2003, Ménard teamed up with François Roberge, Éric Sylvain and Maxime Elmaleh as skip. Amos, Quebec
Amos is a town (Quebec), town in northwestern Quebec, Canada, on the Harricana River. It is the seat of Abitibi Regional County Municipality. Amos is the main town on the Harricana River, and the smallest of the three primary towns — after Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d'Or — in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region of Quebec. Shawn Adams
Shawn Adams (born April 4, 1974, in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian curler from Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia. Career Adams rose to curling prominence being runner-up at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, and then the next year, won the 1993 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, however he was stripped of the championship because of alcohol violations after the victory. 7 years later Adams came back to the scene winning the Nova Scotia championships for the right to go to the 2000 Labatt Brier, where he finished 3–8. Two years later, at the 2002 Nokia Brier he improved on that record with a 6–5 record. Finally, at the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier, Adams would finish the round-robin with an 8–3 record earning him a berth in the playoffs. The 2005 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadians, Canadian men's curling championship, was held at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta from March 5 to 13. Éric Sylvain
Éric Sylvain (born June 16, 1971) is a Canadian Curling, curler from Lévis, Quebec. He was the long time second (curling), second for Jean-Michel Ménard from 2003 to 2018. Sylvain joined up with Ménard in 2003, and qualified for his first the Brier, Brier in 2005 as a member of Team Quebec. They lost in the 3-4 game to Nova Scotia (Shawn Adams, skip). In 2006, they qualified for the Brier, this time winning the title when they defeated Ontario (Glenn Howard) in the final. The team became the first francophone team from Quebec to win the Brier. 2003 Nokia Brier
The 2003 Nokia Brier, the Canadian men's curling championship, was held from March 1 to 9 at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The defending champion, Randy Ferbey and his team from Alberta were the winners, winning their third Brier in a row. At the Worlds they went on to represent Canada and win the gold medal. The event was the second and final Brier to be boycotted by many of the top teams in the country, such as Kevin Martin, Glenn Howard, Wayne Middaugh and Jeff Stoughton, who were protesting a lack of prize money. Guy Hemmings
Guy Hemmings (born May 10, 1962) is a Canadian curler from Sorel. Hemmings gained prominence after reaching the final of the Brier in 1998 and 1999. He is considered an ambassador for the game, not only in his home province of Quebec but across Canada which he crosses every year as part of his "Guy Hemmings Rockin' the House Tour".
