Éric Sylvain
Éric Sylvain (born June 16, 1971) is a Canadian Curling, curler from Lévis, Quebec. He was the long time second (curling), second for Jean-Michel Ménard from 2003 to 2018. Sylvain joined up with Ménard in 2003, and qualified for his first the Brier, Brier in 2005 as a member of Team Quebec. They lost in the 3-4 game to Nova Scotia (Shawn Adams, skip). In 2006, they qualified for the Brier, this time winning the title when they defeated Ontario (Glenn Howard) in the final. The team became the first francophone team from Quebec to win the Brier. This qualified them to represent Team Canada at the 2006 World Men's Curling Championship. The lost in the final to Scotland (David Murdoch). The team failed to qualify for the 2007 Brier- losing to Pierre Charette in the provincial final. The team broke up that year, but Sylvain stuck with Ménard. Shawn Adams
Shawn Adams (born April 4, 1974, in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian curler from Upper Tantallon, Nova Scotia. Career Adams rose to curling prominence being runner-up at the 1992 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, and then the next year, won the 1993 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, however he was stripped of the championship because of alcohol violations after the victory. 7 years later Adams came back to the scene winning the Nova Scotia championships for the right to go to the 2000 Labatt Brier, where he finished 3–8. Two years later, at the 2002 Nokia Brier he improved on that record with a 6–5 record. Finally, at the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier, Adams would finish the round-robin with an 8–3 record earning him a berth in the playoffs. 2008 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2008 Tim Hortons Brier, Canada's men's curling championship, was held from March 8 to 16 at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Skipped by Kevin Martin, Alberta defeated the defending champion, and reigning World Champion Glenn Howard and Team Ontario. The final pitted arguably the top 2 teams in the world, at least the top 2 teams in the World Curling Tour. The final, while close, failed to live up to expectations, and was widely considered boring, and was full of mistakes due to ice problems. Pierre G. "The Duffer" Charette (born June 23, 1955) is a Canadian curler from Gatineau, Quebec. He currently coaches the Silvana Tirinzoni rink and the Jean-Michel Ménard rink. Career Born in Masson, Quebec, Charette has played in thirteen Briers, and was the first curler to have played every position (including alternate) at a Brier. He skipped teams in 1989, 1993 and 2007; played third for Guy Hemmings in 1998 and 1999, played second for Don Westphal in 1997, played lead for Westphal in 1996 and was the alternate for Kevin Adams in 1991, Ted Butler in 1992 and Jean-Michel Ménard in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017.
