2005 Tim Hortons Brier
The 2005 Tim Hortons Brier, the Canadians, Canadian men's curling championship, was held at Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta from March 5 to 13. The tournament consisted of 12 teams, one from each province, plus a team representing the Yukon and Northwest Territories, plus a team representing Northern Ontario. The defending champion, Mark Dacey, did not participate, as he was knocked out in the Nova Scotia final by Shawn Adams' team. Edmonton

Wayne Middaugh
Robert Wayne Middaugh (born September 20, 1967) is a Canadian curler. Born in Brampton, Ontario, Middaugh resides in Victoria Harbour, Ontario. He is the only player to have won the Canadian Men's Curling Championship (known as the Brier) at three different positions: skip (1998), third (2012), and second (1993). He was inducted into the Canadian Curling Hall of Fame in 2020. He currently coaches the Anna Hasselborg rink from Sweden. Career Middaugh is a three-time world champion, once as second for Russ Howard in 1993, as a skip in 1998, and as third for Glenn Howard in 2012. He has competed in ten Briers — in 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1994 as Russ Howard's second, in 1998, 2001, 2005 and 2021 as a skip, and in 2012 and 2013 as third on the Glenn Howard rink — winning the title in 1993, 1998 and 2012. Pat Simmons (curler)
Patrick "Simms" Simmons (born November 21, 1974, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan) is a Canadian curler. Simmons played on the 2014 and 2015 Canadian champion rink, the latter year as skip. As a skip, he has also represented Saskatchewan in four straight Briers from 2005 to 2008 and again in 2011. He has also represented Alberta twice at the Brier. He currently coaches the Mike McEwen rink. Career Simmons made it to his first Brier in 2005 after winning his first provincial championship, defeating Daryl Williamson in that year's Saskatchewan final with teammates Jeff Sharp, Chris Haichert and Ben Hebert. Michael Jakubo (pronounced "JACK-u-bo"; born November 17, 1982, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian professional curler from Garson, Ontario. He is the skip of Team Jakubo, and competed in the 2014–15 World Curling Tour. He represented Northern Ontario at the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier and the 2009 Tim Hortons Brier. Randy Dutiaume
Randy Dutiaume is a Canadian curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Dutiaume was relatively unknown to curling until 2005, having only participated in the 2003 Manitoba men's championship finishing 0-2. However, in 2005 with a new team of Dave Elias, Greg Melnichuk and Shane Kilgallen Dutiaume won the Manitoba Curling Association Bonspiel with a record of 17-1, his only loss coming to junior curler Adam Norget, to qualify for the Manitoba championship. Dutiaume won the Manitoba championship having to get by strong teams like Kerry Burtnyk and Jeff Stoughton, and then Ryan Fry in the final. After winning the Manitoba championship, Dutiaume would go on to the 2005 Tim Hortons Brier where he finished with a strong performance, finishing 2nd in the round-robin behind defending champion Randy Ferbey and his Alberta rink. Jean-Michel Ménard
Jean-Michel Ménard (born January 19, 1976) is a Canadian curler from Aylmer, Quebec. Ménard is notable for being the first Francophone skip from Quebec to win the Brier - Canada's national curling championship- which he did in 2006. In 2022 he won the World Mixed Curling Championship. Career Ménard had a 5-7 record at the 1996 Canadian Junior Curling Championships, and would return to a national championships at the 2000 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. He would return to the mixed in 2001, winning the tournament. Ménard found himself on the team of Guy Hemmings as his second in 2003, which they won the Quebec championships sending them to the 2003 Nokia Brier. Guy Hemmings
Guy Hemmings (born May 10, 1962) is a Canadian curler from Sorel. Hemmings gained prominence after reaching the final of the Brier in 1998 and 1999. He is considered an ambassador for the game, not only in his home province of Quebec but across Canada which he crosses every year as part of his "Guy Hemmings Rockin' the House Tour". In his tour he conducts "junior clinics at local curling clubs, visits elementary and high schools, visits the sick kids' wings at area hospitals and will host media scrums and is the keynote speaker at receptions at local curling clubs Hemmings was born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, and began curling in 1984 at the age of 22. Rod MacDonald (born August 17, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter, novelist, and educator. He was a "big part of the 1980s folk revival in Greenwich Village clubs", performing at the Speakeasy, The Bottom Line, Folk City, and the "Songwriter's Exchange" at the Cornelia Street Cafe. He co-founded the Greenwich Village Folk Festival, now a non-profit, and is still the President and co-producer of its events. Patrick J. C. Ryan (born September 28, 1955 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a Canadian curler originally from Edmonton, Alberta. Ryan is a former World Champion skip, and three time Brier champion. Ryan lives in Kelowna, British Columbia. Career Ryan appeared in his first Brier in 1979 when he was the second for Paul Devlin's Alberta team. They finished 6-5. In 1985, Ryan returned to the Brier, as a skip of Team Alberta. His team of Gord Trenchie, Don McKenzie, and Don Walchuk had an impressive 11-1 performance, their only loss coming in the final against Al Hackner of Northern Ontario. Two years later, Ryan would return to the Brier. His new team, which included Randy Ferbey (whom he played with at the 1986 Canadian Mixed Championship) and Roy Herbert along with Walchuk finished with a disappointing 6-5 record.
