Imus Agimat
The Imus Agimat is a Filipino professional basketball team based in Imus, Cavite. The team currently competes in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) as a member of the league's South Division. They are one of five teams based in the Calabarzon region and play their home games at Imus Sports Complex. The team joined in 2018 as a charter team of the MPBL. For a majority of their history, the team was known as the Imus Bandera, a reference to Imus being known as the "Flag Capital of the Philippines". History 2018–2023: Original franchise The team began play in 2018 as one of the ten founding teams of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. The team lost a tiebreaker to the Bataan Defenders that would have given it the final playoff spot. The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) is a men's professional sports, professional basketball league in the Philippines. History Manny Pacquiao launched the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League on August 29, 2017, starting off as a semi-professional league. According to Pacquiao, the league is not intended to be a competitor to the Philippine Basketball Association, the country's top professional basketball league. The MPBL was intended to feature both a regional commercial and barangay-level league with teams on the commercial side to have a home locality in addition to a corporate sponsor. Batangas City Embassy Chill
The Batangas City Embassy Chill is a professional basketball team currently competing in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the Filbasket. The team traces its roots to the original Tanduay Rhum Masters that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) from 1975 to 1987 and again from 1999 to 2001. Batangas City, just as the original Tanduay team, is owned and affiliated with Tanduay Distillers. 2023 MPBL All-Star Game
The 2023 MPBL All-Star Game was an exhibition game played on September 16, 2023, during the 2023 season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). It was the fourth edition of the MPBL All-Star Game, which took place at the Bataan People's Center in Balanga, Bataan, the home arena of the Bataan Risers. The North Division won against the South Division for the first time with a score of 99–91. Justine Baltazar was declared the All-Star Game MVP. 2022 MPBL All-Star Game
The 2022 MPBL season, known as the MPBL Mumbaki Season, was the fourth season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. This season the MPBL announced their partnership with OKBet as their official betting partner. The 2024 MPBL season is the sixth season of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) and the third as a professional league. The regular season began on April 6, 2024. This season features 29 teams, with two expansion teams making their debut: the Abra Weavers and the Pangasinan Heatwaves. The Pampanga Giant Lanterns are the defending league champions and reigning North Division champions. Jinino "Jino" Manansala is a Filipino basketball coach for Saint Claire Saints in NAASCU. He is the son of former PBA player Jimmy Manansala. Career Playing Manansala was a former UST Growling Tigers player under Aric del Rosario. He became team captain in 2003, on his final year of playing and del Rosario's final year of coaching the team. Ronald "Mac" Cuan is a Filipino professional basketball coach and former collegiate player who is currently an assistant coach for the Iloilo United Royals in the MPBL. Jonathan Reyes
Jonathan Reyes is a Filipino basketball coach currently coaching Bulacan Kuyas. He was also known by his nickname Budds. He is the father of One Sports analyst and former UP Fighting Maroon Mikee Reyes. Career Reyes played for San Beda Red Lions in his collegiate days. He also coached the Red Lions in 2002 until 2003, but his two seasons did not produced a title, even a final four appearance, and replaced by Nash Racela. Reyes returned to coaching, this time with the Foton Pampanga Tornadoes.
