I Ribelli
I Ribelli (English: The Rebels) were an Italian rock group. Originally formed in 1959 as Adriano Celentano's backup band, they later continued performing as an independent act. The band is best known for their cover versions of some of The Beatles' songs and Brian Poole & The Tremeloes' "Keep on Dancin'", entitled it, "Chi sarà la ragazza del Clan?", lit="Who may be the girl of the Clan?", label=none. Some of the band members such as keyboardist Enzo Jannacci and guitarist Gino Santercole went on to successful solo careers. Ricky Gianco
Ricky Gianco (born Riccardo Sanna, Lodi 1943), formerly known as Ricky Sanna, is an Italian singer, songwriter, guitarist and record producer, considered one of the founders of Italian rock music. He reached the apex of his popularity as a singer in the 1960s, when he was one of the so-called "urlatori" (literally: "screamers"), a group of early rock singers which also included Adriano Celentano, Little Tony, Tony Dallara, and others. In his early career, between the late 1950s and the early 1960s, Gianco played in several bands, including I Ribelli (also known as Celentano's Clan Celentano) and I Quelli (which would later develop into Premiata Forneria Marconi). Compagnia Generale del Disco (CGD) was an Italian record label. History CGD was founded in 1948 by singer Teddy Reno. At that time it was established in Milan in Via Passarella 4. As artistic director Reno called fellow musician Lelio Luttazzi, who replaced David Matalon as Head of International Production in 1956. By collaborating with some publishers such as Suvini-Zerboni and Messaggerie Musicali, CGD was able to hire many artists who roused much success as Giorgio Consolini, Betty Curtis and Johnny Dorelli. Under the Sugar Helm In 1959, Teddy Reno sold CGD to Ladislao Sugar, a publisher of Hungarian origin and future entrepreneurial owner of the Sugar Group, which was founded by Carlo Alberto Rossi's Casa Editrice Ariston, and then abandoned to buy Musical Messengers (Messaggerie Musicali). Dischi Ricordi is an Italian record company founded on by and Guido Crepax, active from 1958 to 1994. History Dischi Ricordi had its seat in Milan (Via Giovanni Berchet, 2). In 1994, the company was bought by BMG, who acquired the catalog while maintaining the historical logo. Gino Santercole (21 November 1940 – 8 June 2018) was an Italian singer/songwriter, guitarist, and actor. He was well known for his breakthrough hit "Questo vecchio pazzo mondo" ("This old crazy world"), a cover of P.F. Sloan's " Eve of Destruction," and for the song "Such a Cold Night Tonight" that he sang in the movie ''Yuppi Du''. Life Early life Santercole was born in Milan, Italy, on 21 November 1940.
