Hoo Ha!
'' Hoo Ha!'' is the fourth studio album by Australian band Bad Dreems. It was announced on 3 March 2023, alongside single "See You Tomorrow". ''Hoo Ha!'' was released on 19 May 2023 and peaked at number 10 on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart, becoming the band's first top ten album. The band described the album as "pub-rock-meets-art-rock", with their rock 'n' roll matched with "literate, visceral lyrics that are equal parts character studies and modern commentary on the darker underbelly of Australia". At the 2023 ARIA Music Awards, the album was nominated for Best Rock Album. Reception Nathan Whittle from ''Louder Than War'' said "Where many bands nowadays take pointed aims at those above, on ''Hoo Ha'', Bad//Dreems turn their gaze inwards to often inhabit the characters whose ideals and desires shape their actions, regardless of consequence. Bad Dreems
Bad Dreems (stylised as Bad//Dreems) are an Australian rock band from Adelaide, South Australia. The band comprises Ben Marwe (lead vocals, acoustic guitar), Alex Cameron (lead guitar, backing vocals), Alistair Wells (rhythm guitar, backing vocals) and Miles Wilson (drums). The band first formed in 2011, releasing their debut EP in 2013. They have released four studio albums to date, with all reaching the top 40 on the ARIA charts. The group have also performed alongside the likes of Midnight Oil, DMA's, the Scientists and the Chats, and have toured internationally on numerous occasions. Midnight Oil (known informally as "The Oils") are an Australian rock band composed of Peter Garrett (vocals, harmonica), Rob Hirst (drums), Jim Moginie (guitar, keyboard) and Martin Rotsey (guitar). The group was formed in Sydney in 1972 by Hirst, Moginie and original bassist Andrew James as Farm: they enlisted Garrett the following year, changed their name in 1976, and hired Rotsey a year later. The Go-Betweens
The Go-Betweens were an Australian indie rock band formed in Brisbane, Queensland, in 1977. The band was co-founded and led by singer-songwriters and guitarists Robert Forster (musician), Robert Forster and Grant McLennan, who were its only constant members throughout its existence. Drummer Lindy Morrison joined the band in 1980, and its lineup would later expand to include bass guitarist Robert Vickers and multi-instrumentalist Amanda Brown (musician), Amanda Brown. Vickers was replaced by John Willsteed in 1987, and the quintet lineup remained in place until the band split two years later. Forster and McLennan reformed the band in 2000 with a new lineup that did not include any previous personnel aside from them.
