''Hers'' is the sixth studio album by British-Canadian singer-songwriter Matt Maltese. It was released on 16 May 2025, by The Orchard. Background Consisting of eleven tracks ranging between three and five minutes each with a total runtime of approximately thirty-nine minutes, the album is Maltese's first self-produced album since ''Krystal'' in 2019. Reception Marcy Donelson of AllMusic noted, "Full of memorably wistful melodies as well as potentially relatable struggles, ''Hers'' feels like an instant classic, if one that's also outside of time." Daisy Carter of '' DIY Mag'' gave the album four stars and remarked, "And so, for sixth studio LP ''Hers'', his conundrum was not one of execution, but evolution." Matthew Jonathan Gordon Maltese (born 6 October 1995) is a British-Canadian singer-songwriter and record producer. His style blends elements from indie pop, indie rock, and chamber pop. Since releasing his debut single "Even If It's a Lie" in 2015, Maltese has released four studio albums, a cover album, and a number of EPs. Maltese's third studio album '' Good Morning It's Now Tomorrow'' was released in October 2021 via Nettwerk. Maltese released his fourth studio album '' Driving Just to Drive'' in April 2023. Early life Matthew Jonathan Gordon Maltese was born on 6 October 1995 to Canadian parents; his father of Italian descent. Maltese was raised in Reading, England. Chamber Pop
Chamber pop (also called baroque pop and sometimes conflated with orchestral pop or symphonic pop) is a music genre that combines rock music with the intricate use of strings, horns, piano, and vocal harmonies, and other components drawn from the orchestral and lounge pop of the 1960s, with an emphasis on melody and texture. During chamber pop's initial emergence in the 1960s, producers such as Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, Burt Bacharach, Lee Hazlewood, and the Beach Boys' Brian Wilson served as formative artists of the genre. Wilson's productions of the Beach Boys' albums ''Pet Sounds'' and ''Smile'' are cited as particularly influential to the genre. From the early 1970s to early 1990s, most chamber pop acts saw little to no mainstream success. Tidal (stylized TIDAL) is a Norwegian-American music streaming service, launched in 2014 by the Norwegian-Swedish public company Aspiro. Tidal is now majority-owned by Block, Inc., the owner of the point-of-sale system Square. With distribution agreements with all three major record labels and many independent labels, Tidal claims to provide access to more than 100 million tracks and 650,000 music videos. On April 10, 2024, Tidal merged its two subscription plans to become one simply named Tidal, which offers the same quality as the former HiFi Plus plan (FLAC HiRes 24-bit/192KHz and MQA – 24-bit/352.8 kHz). A record producer or music producer is a music creating project's overall supervisor whose responsibilities can involve a range of creative and technical leadership roles.
