An album is a collection of audio recordings (e.g., music) issued on a medium such as compact disc (CD), Phonograph record, vinyl (record), audio tape (like 8-track cartridge, 8-track or Cassette tape, cassette), or digital distribution, digital. Albums of recorded sound were developed in the early 20th century as individual 78 rpm records (78s) collected in a bound book resembling a photo album; this format evolved after 1948 into single vinyl LP record, long-playing (LP) records played at rpm. Cursed (Paleface Swiss Album)
''Cursed'' is the third studio album by Swiss deathcore band Paleface Swiss, released on 3 January 2025 through Blood Blast Distribution. It is the band's first album to feature drummer Cassiano Toma, and the band's first album to be released under the name 'Paleface Swiss' as the band had to rename due to there being another artist under the name of ' Paleface'. The first single, titled "Hatred", was released on 26 September 2024 along with the album announcement. It was then followed by two more singles, "My Blood on Your Hands", and "Love Burns", which were released on 7 November 2024 and 4 December 2024, respectively. Slowcore
Slowcore, also known as sadcore, is a subgenre of indie rock characterised by its subdued tempos, minimalist instrumentation, and sombre vocal performances. Slowcore's influences are diverse, involving varying other genres, including folk rock, alternative rock, and dream pop. As a result of these contrasting stylistic directions, there is no definitive characterisation of the genre. The history of slowcore began in the late-1980s, with several bands forming in reaction to the abrasive sounds of grunge. Slow rock music, with a pensive style inspired by genres such as singer-songwriter and folk, laid the groundwork for the genre in the early years and until the mid-1990s, when Low played a pivotal role in establishing slowcore as one of the era's microgenres; however, despite their retrospective acclamation as slowcore pioneers, Low was not the first band to produce slowcore. ''Perverts'' is a studio recording by the American singer-songwriter and record producer Ethel Cain. It was self-released on January 8, 2025, through her record label Daughters of Cain with distribution from AWAL. She solely wrote, recorded, and produced it in 2024. ''Perverts'' is a drone, slowcore, and dark ambient project that Cain conceived as a side release to her main trilogy of albums, which began with '' Preacher's Daughter'' (2022). The lyrical themes of the project explore ways of perversion. ''Perverts'' was preceded by the single " Punish" on November 1, 2024. Plena
Plena is a genre of music and dance native to Puerto Rico. Origins The plena genre originated in Barrio San Antón, Ponce, Puerto Rico, around 1900. It was influenced by the bomba style of music. Originally, sung texts were not associated with the plena, which was rendered by guitar, accordion and pandero, but eventually, in 1907, singing was added.
