Gunnar Prokop
Gunnar Prokop (born 11 July 1940) is a former Austrian handball and track and field, athletics coach. He has previously been both president and coach for the handball club Hypo Niederösterreich. He is widely considered one of the best women's handball coaches of all time, but has been involved in controversy due to cheating as a coach and misogynistic remarks. Career Athletics Prokop started his career as an track and field coach at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, where he was the coach for Liese Sykora, who competed in Modern pentathlon, pentathlon. They married a year later in 1965. At the 1968 Olympics Liese Sykora-Prokop won a silver medal in the pentathlon, something Prokop has described as one of his best achievements. Svetlana Ognjenović
Svetlana Ognjenović ( sr-Cyrl, Светлана Огњеновић; born 26 January 1981) is a Serbian handball player. She is a member of the Serbian national team. Career Ognjenović started at ŽRK Radnički Belgrade, and went on to play for ŽRK Knjaz Miloš and HC Naisa Niš in her home country. In 2007 she became Serbian champion. She then went on to play for Danish side Slagelse FH, where she played for single year before moving to French Metz Handball. Here she won the French championship in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2014, the French Cup in 2010 and 2013, and the French league cup in 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2013 she reached the final of the EHF Cup, but lost to Danish Team Tvis Holstebro. She retired after the 2013/14 season. The Austrian People's Party ( , ÖVP ) is a Christian-democratic and liberal-conservative political party in Austria. Karin Prokop
Karin Maria Ilona Prokop (born 11 February 1966) is an Austrian handball player, handball coach and politician. She was born in Tulln an der Donau, a daughter of Austrian athlete Liese Sykora-Prokop and Austrian handball coach Gunnar Prokop. Handball Career Karin Prokop was active between 1977 and 1995. From 1982 she played for the first team of the Austrian top club Hypo Niederösterreich. In 1984 she became a part of the Austrian national team. She competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics, where Austria placed 5th and at the 1984 Summer Olympics where Austria finished 6th. She also participated in the 1994 European Women's Handball Championship in Germany. From 1994 to 1996 she worked as a sporting coordinator for the Austrian Handball Federation, where she was responsible for the 1995 World Women's Handball Championship in Austria. Liese Prokop
Liesel "Liese" Prokop-Sykora (27 March 1941 – 31 December 2006) was an Austrian athlete and, later in her life, a politician. She competed mainly in the pentathlon. Biography Born as Liese Sykora in Tulln District, Lower Austria, on 27 March 1941, she graduated from the University of Vienna with a degree in biology and sport. In 1965 she married her former coach, Gunnar Prokop. The couple had two sons and a daughter. in 1967, she became student world champion in Tokyo. She competed for Austria in the 1968 Summer Olympics held in Mexico City, Mexico in the Pentathlon where she won the silver medal. In 1969, she became European champion in Athens, breaking the world pentathlon record. In addition, she was Austrian champion in pentathlon, long jump, high jump, hurdles, relay and shot putting. Christian Friedrich Mali (6 October 1832, Darthuizen (near Utrecht) – 1 October 1906, Munich) was a German painter and art professor. His older brother, Johannes Cornelis Jacobus Mali (1828–1865) was also a painter. Life Mali was the youngest of ten siblings, all of whom displayed artistic talent. After the sudden death of his father in 1833, Mali moved to Württemberg with his mother and worked as a xylographer until 1858. He and his brother Johannes moved to Munich in 1860, where Christian became a lifelong friend of the animal painter Anton Braith. As the result of a trip to Verona, he became interested in architectural painting, and produced several renderings of the buildings there. Aalborg Damehåndbold is a former team handball club for women from Aalborg, Denmark. History Aalborg DH was promoted to the top league in Denmark in 2002–2003. The club finished second in the top league once, and obtained third place in 2005–2006. In the 2005–2006 season the club reached the semi-final in the Women's EHF Champions League. Aalborg DH was on 3 September 2013 declared bankrupt.
