FC Locomotive Tbilisi-2
FC Locomotive-2 ( ka, სკ ლოკომოტივი-2) is a Georgian football team based in Tbilisi. Founded in 1936, it is the reserve team of Locomotive and plays in the 3rd division of Georgian football. Locomotive-2 are the winners of three different divisions and have reached the final of the Georgian Cup. History Locomotive-2 first featured in the 2nd division of Georgia football in 1999. With the first team high-flying in the Umaglesi Liga, the reserves were ineligible for promotion. Yet, the latter won their eastern group in the 1999–2000 season and later spent another four seasons in the league. As the two-time national league runners-up and three-time cup holders, Locomotive experienced a significant revival in the mid-2010s. While the first team managed to return to the top-tier after a four-year absence, the second team won the last championship held among the reserve teams. Liga 4 (Georgia)
Liga 4 ( ka, ლიგა 4), organized by the Georgian Football Federation, is the fourth tier of the national football league. It was founded in 2019 as a part of comprehensive reorganization of the league system. As of the 2025 season, Algeti hold the longest tenure in this division. They have been in Liga 4 since its inaugurating season. There are currently four top-division teams participating in the tournament: Guria (1990–99, 2001–02, 2013–17), Mertskhali (1990–92, 2003–04), Sulori (1991, 1991–92) and Zestaponi (2004–15) with the latter being the two-time national champions. Five junior teams of higher league members are also represented in the division this season. Erovnuli Liga 2
The Georgian Erovnuli Liga 2 ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა 2; ), organized since 1990 by the GFF, serves as the second division of professional football in Georgia. The league was introduced for the 2017 season under the current name as a part of reorganization process of the entire league system. It was formerly known as Pirveli liga (the First league). Structure There are ten clubs competing in Erovnuli Liga 2. During the season each club plays each other four times, twice at home and twice away. At the end of each season the winner gains automatic promotion and the bottom club is relegated. The runner-up and 3rd placed team participate in two-legged home and away play-off matches against the 9th and 8th placed clubs of Erovnuli Liga, respectively. In case two or more teams obtain an equal number of points, final standings are determined by an aggregate of the results between them. 2024 Georgian Cup
The 2024 Georgian Cup was a single knock-out football tournament, organized by the Georgian Football Federation. The winner qualified for the first round of the 2025–26 UEFA Conference League season. Saburtalo, currently known as Iberia 1999, are the most recent title holders, having beaten Dinamo Batumi in the 2023 Cup final with an injury-time winner. The 2023 Georgian Cup was the 34th edition of the national football tournament in Georgia. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 Conference League first qualifying round. 2023 Liga 3 (Georgia)
The 2023 Liga 3 (Georgia) season was the 7th edition under its current title and the 35th edition of third tier football in Georgia. The regular two-round tournament began on 4 April and ended on 1 December with promotion play-offs completed on 10 December. Each team played thirty matches in as many rounds. Gori had the longest tenure in the league with the 7th consecutive season while Meshakhte and Bakhmaro entered into the sixth year. On the other hand, three of the four new members ( Locomotive-2, Rustavi and Shturmi) made their debut in Liga 3. The 2022 Erovnuli Liga or Crystalbet Erovnuli Liga 2022 (formerly known as ''Umaglesi Liga'') was the 34th season of top-tier football in Georgia. Dinamo Batumi were the defending champions. Teams and stadiums Changes Sioni Bolnisi (promoted after a two-year absence) and Gagra (promoted after a ten-year absence) were promoted from the 2021 Erovnuli Liga 2. FC Iberia 1999, formerly known as FC Saburtalo, is a Georgian football club, based in the Saburtalo District of Tbilisi, the capital of the country. Тhey have been the most decorated Georgian team since 2017 when the Erovnuli Liga was launched. History Saburtalo was founded on 20 August 1999, in Tbilisi. In 2005, the club was bought by Iberia Business Group and its owner Tariel Khechikashvili, who later became the Minister of Sport & Youth Affairs of Georgia. Following the 2014–15 season, Saburtalo won their respective Pirveli Liga group with a nineteen-point margin and advanced to the Umaglesi Liga. FC Telavi ''( Georgian:'' საფეხბურთო კლუბი თელავი) is a Georgian professional football club based in the city of Telavi, Kakheti. The team competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the first tier of the national league system.
