Eddie Butler (singer)
Eddie Butler (; born October 2, 1971) is an Israelis, Israeli singer. He was born in Dimona to a family of Black Hebrew Israelites from Chicago. Butler started performing at the age of eight. In the 1990s he sang with wedding bands, and in 1992 worked as a backing singer for Zehava Ben. In 1999 Butler represented Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999, Eurovision Song Contest in Jerusalem as part of the Eden (Israeli band), Eden group which consisted of Eddie, Eddie's older brother Gabriel Butler, Rafael Dahan and Doron Oren. Their song "Happy Birthday" finished 5th with 93 points. Eden broke up in 2001, and after the group's breakup, Butler launched a solo career. He has performed throughout Europe, Russia and the United States. In 2002 he got the Special Audience Prize of the international music competition New Wave in Jūrmala, Latvia. Dudu Topaz (; September 20, 1946 – August 20, 2009) (born David Goldenberg) was an Israeli TV personality, comedian, actor, screenwriter, playwright, author and radio and television host. In August 2009 he died by suicide while incarcerated, having been criminally charged with conspiring violence against prominent media figures in Israel. Biography David Goldenberg, later Dudu Topaz, was born in Haifa, in then British Mandate of Palestine (now Israel) to Lilly and Eliyahu Goldenberg. "Push the Button", known in Hebrew as "Kaftor Adom" (, "Red Button"), was the entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, performed in English, French and Hebrew by Teapacks. This song was the first Israeli entry to feature lyrics in French, as well as the first to feature lyrics in any language aside from Hebrew or English. The entry gained the right to represent the country by an absolute majority, winning 20% of the televote, 20% of the SMS vote, 20% of the pre-vote and 40% of the jury vote. Teapacks (also known as Tipex) () is an Israeli band that formed in 1988 as HaHotzaa La'Poal (Hebrew: , ''The Execution'') in the southern Israeli city of Sderot. Originally the band was named after the correction fluid Tipp-Ex, but in 1995 the transliteration was changed so as not to infringe on the well-known brand, while keeping the pronunciation and spelling in Hebrew the same. Each member of the band has a diverse background, and as a whole the band has Tunisian, Moroccan, Bulgarian, Romanian, Syrian, Polish, Russian, and Yemenite heritage. Teapacks gained popularity by bringing forward traditional Israeli-oriental music combined with light humorous hints. "Sameyakh" or "Sameach" (; meaning "happy") is a Hebrew song by the techno / pop band PingPong, a quartet consisting of Guy Asif, Roy Arad, Yifat Giladi and Ahal Eden.
