Douglas Hickox
Douglas Arthur Hickox (10 January 1929 – 25 July 1988) was an English film and television director. Biography Hickox was born in London, where he was educated at Emanuel School. He started in the film industry at age 17, working at Pinewood Studios as "a thirty bob a week office boy". Hickox worked extensively as an assistant director and second unit director throughout the 1950s and early 1960s. ‘’The British B Film’’ (Steve Chibnall & Brian McFarlane; BFI, 2009) credits him with working on over thirty musical shorts and a handful of jazz/pop supporting featurettes. He worked on TV shows such as ''Sunday Break'' and ''Tempo'' and became a leading director of TV commercials. Louise Cordet (born Louise Boisot, 8 February 1945, England) is an English pop singer who also sang in French, best known as a one-hit wonder for her 1962 single, "I'm Just a Baby". Early life Louise Cordet is the daughter of Captain Marcel Boisot of the Free French Air Force and the French-born Greek actress Hélène Cordet. In 1940, as a trainee cadet pilot with no more than 20 hours' flying time, her father flew a Morane 315 training aircraft without navigation equipment or maps from Meknès in Morocco to Gibraltar in response to Charles de Gaulle's appeal of 18 June. Her mother's parents helped Prince Andrew and Princess Alice of Greece after their exile in 1922, resulting in a lasting friendship between the two families. The Warriors (British Band)
The Warriors, also known as The Electric Warriors, were a British rock 'n' roll, Beatles-inspired band of the early 1960s. While the band recorded a few singles with Decca Records, it is mostly remembered because many of its members (most notably Jon Anderson) later became successful musicians in the British progressive rock scene of the 1970s. John Goodison (musician)
John Kenneth Goodison (born 1943 Coventry, Warwickshire, England died September 3, 1988 Coventry, England) who first appeared as Johnny B. Great, was an English rock musician, songwriter and record producer. He was best known as vocalist for his later project Big John's Rock and Roll Circus, which had a number 1 hit in South Africa. He also used the pseudonyms Peter Simmons and Peter Simons for co-writing songs for such as The Brotherhood of Man; Goodison was in the Brotherhood's original line-up from its foundation in 1969, co-writing and performing its 1970 chart hits "United We Stand" and "Where Are You Going to My Love" as well as other songs before leaving the group in 1971. A Band Of Angels were a mid-1960s pop group, featuring Mike d'Abo (vocals, various instruments), John Edward Baker (lead guitar), John Christian Gaydon (vocals, rhythm guitar), Andrew Charles Malcolm Glyn Petre (drums), David Robert Wilkinson (bass guitar). Mike d'Abo went to Manfred Mann, while John Gaydon became a manager, involved with King Crimson, Julie Felix, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, T. Rex and Roxy Music in partnership with A Band of Angels former road manager David Enthoven. They later co-founded E.G. Records. Mark Wynter (born Terence Sidney Lewis; 29 January 1943) is an English singer and actor, who had four Top 20 singles in the 1960s, including " Venus in Blue Jeans" and "Go Away Little Girl". He enjoyed a lengthy career from 1960 to 1968 as a pop singer and teen idol, and developed later into an actor in film, musicals and plays. The Applejacks were an English beat group of the 1960s. They were the first "Brumbeat" group (that is, from the West Midlands conurbation-Birmingham area) to reach the Top 10 of the UK Singles Chart, and were unusual for having a female bass guitarist, Megan Davies. History All of the Applejacks (except Jackson) were members of the same scout troop as children. Baggott, Cash and Freeman began playing together in a skiffle group named the Crestas in 1961, occasionally performing at a local youth club.
