The DS N°8 is an Battery electric vehicle, battery electric Crossover (automobile), crossover SUV by DS Automobiles unveiled on 12 December 2024, and production commenced in Melfi, Italy in April 2025. N°8 pronounced 'number eight' (or 'numéro huit; in French), is the first model to feature the brand's new model naming strategy. According to DS Automobiles, the number 8 "is associated with balance and serenity, which combine to form a harmonious whole". It features the No8 badge on the rear fascia, next to the 'DS Automobiles' emblem, in a new 'separated branding' arrangement which the brand says, will ensure "a clear division between the brand and the model". DS Automobiles is a French Luxury car, luxury-Premium segment, premium marque created in 2009. Formerly part of Automobiles Citroën, Automobiles Citroën S.A., DS has been a standalone brand ultimately owned by PSA Group, later Stellantis. The presidential car is the vehicle which carries the president of France. The president of France can choose between several armoured versions of high-end French cars including the Citroën DS5 PSA HYbrid4, Hybrid4, Citroën C6, Renault Vel Satis and Peugeot 607. These are traditionally provided by the manufacturers and different presidents will have their own preference. Current president Emmanuel Macron has used a Renault Rafale and DS 7 Crossback as the first luxury SUV by French manufacturer DS Automobiles for his investiture.
