Presidential Car (France)
The presidential car is the vehicle which carries the president of France. The president of France can choose between several armoured versions of high-end French cars including the Citroën DS5 PSA HYbrid4, Hybrid4, Citroën C6, Renault Vel Satis and Peugeot 607. These are traditionally provided by the manufacturers and different presidents will have their own preference. Current president Emmanuel Macron has used a Renault Rafale and DS 7 Crossback as the first luxury SUV by French manufacturer DS Automobiles for his investiture. For his day to day travel, Macron uses an armoured Peugeot 5008 and a Renault Espace. He has also used the ACMAT VLRA, ACMAT military command car for the Bastille Day parade. President François Hollande used a one-off convertible version of the Citroën DS5 Hybrid4 for his inauguration parade on 15 May 2012. Henri Chapron
Henri Chapron (30 December 1886 - 14 May 1978) was a prominent French automobile coachbuilder. His coachworks, carrosserie, created in 1919, was located in the Paris suburb of Levallois-Perret. History Chapron was born in Nouan-le-Fuzelier (Sologne), and began his career developing custom body designs for French luxury vehicles, like Talbot (automobile), Talbot, Delage, and Delahaye, in the 1920s.
