DKFXP
DKFXP is an American musical collaboration between Franky Perez (FXP), of Scars on Broadway, and Dave Kushner (DK), of Velvet Revolver. To date, three songs by the duo have been released, for free download via the Franky Perez website, while one was reworked by Kushner and used for the film ''Hisss'', featuring vocals and lyrics by Shruti Haasan. History Formation (2009–present) On June 20, 2009, Scars on Broadway guitarist and solo artist Franky Perez announced, via MySpace, that he was in the studio collaborating with Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner. On September 19, announced through his blog on Myspace, Franky released the song ''Party Of One'', available to download from his website along with a code to use to download the song. In October, Franky stated on his Twitter account that he and Kushner were jamming with Weezer bassist Scott Shriner and Scars on Broadway bandmate and former System of a Down drummer John Dolmayan. Dave Kushner
Dave Kushner (born November 16, 1966) is an American musician best known as the rhythm guitarist for the hard rock supergroup Velvet Revolver. Kushner has also been a member of Wasted Youth, Electric Love Hogs, Loaded, Danzig, Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro's solo band, Sugartooth, Zilch while he has also recorded with Infectious Grooves, Cyco Miko and more recently collaborated with Scars on Broadway guitarist Franky Perez releasing songs under the pseudonym of DKFXP, a combination of the initials of Perez and Kushner, as well as working with Indian singer and actress Shruti Haasan. Kushner has also been writing and composing music for films and television, most notable the theme for FX series ''Sons of Anarchy'', titled " This Life", where he received an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Main Title Theme Music in 2009 while in 2010 he received an ASCAP Award for the theme. Franky Perez is an American musician best known as a solo artist, touring vocalist of the Finnish metal band Apocalyptica, and as former guitarist for Scars on Broadway. He has also released three solo albums, ''Poor Man's Son'', ''My 4th of July,'' and ''Addict'', and performed with guitarist Slash (musician), Slash in his live band before Slash assembled the touring band that backed him during his first full solo tour with Myles Kennedy. John Dolmayan
John Dolmayan () (born July 15, 1972) is an Armenian-American musician, best known as the drummer of System of a Down. He is also the former drummer for Scars on Broadway. Dolmayan was ranked number 33 on ''Loudwire''s list of ''Top 200 Hard Rock + Metal Drummers of All Time''. Early life John Dolmayan was born in Beirut, Lebanon, to Armenian parents. During the Lebanese Civil War, his family moved to California. Dolmayan first became interested in drums at the age of two. His father was a saxophone player and when his mother would take him to watch his father play, he would mimic his father's drummer. He learned to play the drums by putting on records and practicing for hours a day, and continued said practice for years. Scott Shriner
Scott Gardner Shriner (born July 11, 1965) is an American musician best known as a member of the rock band Weezer, with whom he has recorded twelve studio albums. Joining the band in 2001, Shriner is the band's longest serving bass guitarist. Prior to his musical career, Shriner was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. At the age of twenty-five, he moved to Los Angeles, California, to pursue a career in music, attending the Musicians Institute. Shriner subsequently performed with multiple independent acts, and toured as a member of Vanilla Ice's backing band, in support of the rapper's nu metal album '' Hard to Swallow.'' In 2001, Shriner joined Weezer on a provisional basis, following the sudden departure of bass guitarist Mikey Welsh, who had left the band for personal reasons.
