''Don Checco'' is an opera in two acts composed by Nicola De Giosa to a libretto by Almerindo Spadetta. It premiered on 11 July 1850 at the Teatro Nuovo in Naples. Al Checco (July 21, 1921 – July 19, 2015) was an American film, television and theatre actor. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was known for playing the role of Bernard Stein in the 1968 film '' The Party''. Checco was the partner of actor, Don Knotts, in which they were performing entertainers in Special Services to soldiers during World War II. He died on July 19, 2015 of natural causes at his home in Studio City, California, at the age of 93. Francesco "Checco" Rissone (7 July 1909 – 26 September 1985) was an Italian film, stage and television actor. Life and career Rissone was born in Turin, the younger brother of the more famous Giuditta Rissone, Giuditta. He debuted on stage at a young age and often worked in the same companies as his sister. Graduating in economics, in the post-war years Rissone specialized in character roles, in films, television and particularly on stage, often working at the Piccolo Teatro (Milan), Piccolo Teatro in Milan under the direction of Giorgio Strehler. At the Piccolo Teatro, he also worked as assistant director and later as teacher at the drama school of the theatre. Francesco "Checco" Bruni (born 11 April 1973) is a professional sailor from Italy, together with James Spithill, helmsman of Luna Rossa during the America's Cup 2021. He is the brother of the sailor Gabriele Bruni with whom he teamed up in 49er regattas during the 2000 Summer Olympics held in Sydney, Australia. Biography He has competed in the Summer Olympics three times, all in different classes. He finished 12th at the 1996 Olympics in a Laser, 11th at the 2000 Olympics in a 49er and 7th at the 2004 Olympics in the Star class. Bruni raced with Luna Rossa Challenge at the 2003 and 2007 Louis Vuitton Cups.
