Canadian Academy Of Independent Scholars
The Canadian Academy of Independent Scholars is a former association of independent scholars in Canada. One of the largest organizations for independent scholars in the world, it is Patronage, patroned by John Ralston Saul. The academy was founded at Simon Fraser University, where it grew out of a series of informal discussions among academics known as the Philosophers' Café that began in the late 1990s. Chinese American International School (CAIS) is an independent preschool through Grade 8 co-educational Chinese- English dual language immersion school located in San Francisco, California. The Central American Integration System (, or SICA) has been the economic and political organization of Central American states since 1 February 1993. On 13 December 1991, the ODECA countries (Spanish: ''Organización de Estados Centroamericanos'') signed the Protocol of Tegucigalpa, extending earlier cooperation for regional peace, political freedom, democracy and economic development. Complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) is an AIS condition that results in the complete inability of the cell to respond to androgens. As such, the insensitivity to androgens is only clinically significant when it occurs in individuals who are exposed to significant amounts of testosterone at some point in their lives. The unresponsiveness of the cell to the presence of androgenic hormones prevents the masculinization of male genitalia in the developing fetus, as well as the development of male secondary sexual characteristics at puberty, but does allow, without significant impairment, female genital and sexual development in those with the condition.
