Bill Mamadou
Bah Bill Abuza Mamadou (born 8 September 2001), more commonly known as Bill Mamadou or monoymously as Bill, is a Singaporean footballer of Malian descent currently playing as a centre-back, right-back or central-midfielder for Singapore Premier League club Lion City Sailors and the Singapore under-23 national team. He is the son of former footballer Bah Mamadou. Club career Home United In 2019, Bill was promoted to the Home United senior team and played a total of 3 matches for the club. Loan to Young Lions While serving the compulsory National Service, Bill joined the Young Lions on loan for two years from 2020 to 2021. Lion City Sailors Bill returned to his parent club which is currently privatised and revamp as Lion City Sailors after his completion from National service commitments. Tanjong Pagar United Football Club is a professional football club that competes in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. The club took part in S.League from 1996 to 2004, and from 2011 to 2014. The 2019 Singapore Premier League (also known as the AIA Singapore Premier League due to sponsorship reasons) was the 2nd season of the Singapore Premier League, the top-flight Singaporean professional league for association football clubs, since its rebranding in 2018. Lion City Sailors Football Club, commonly referred to as The Sailors or LCS, is a Singaporean professional football club competing in the Singapore Premier League, the top tier of the Singapore football league system. Since the 2021 season, the team have played their home games at Jalan Besar Stadium. Woodlands Wellington Football Club is an inactive professional football club which played in the S.League, the top division of football in Singapore. They are based in Woodlands at the 4,300 seater Woodlands Stadium, where they have played since their establishment. Woodlands Wellington FC's honours include winning the inaugural Singapore League Cup in 2007, defeating Sengkang Punggol FC 4–0 in the final. Founded in 1898, the club is considered as the oldest football club in the country. Gombak United Football Club was a professional football club which competed in the S.League, the top division of football in Singapore. The club was based in Bukit Gombak. During the early years of the S. League, Gombak United played their home games at Bukit Gombak Stadium before moving to Jurong West Stadium in 2006 until they dissolved in 2012. The 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualification was an international men's under-23 football competition which decided the participating teams of the 2024 AFC U-23 Asian Cup. A total of 16 teams qualified to play in the final tournament, including Qatar who qualified automatically as hosts. 2023 Merlion Cup
The Merlion Cup was an invitational football tournament that was held in Singapore annually from 1982–1986, in 1992, 2009 and 2019. Participants included full national sides, Olympic sides, Invitational XI's and club teams. After the 1986 tournament, four Canadian players ( Igor Vrablic, Hector Marinaro, David Norman and Chris Chueden) were suspended after a match-fixing scandal. History The inaugural Merlion Cup was held in 1982 and was held annually until 1986. The tournament was not held in 1987 due to financial constraints and the planned tournament would have scheduling conflict with the Malaysia Cup.
