Mali National Football Team
The Mali national football team ( Bambara: '' Mali jamana ntolatantɔn'', ) represents Mali in men's international football and is governed by the Malian Football Federation. The team's nickname is Les Aigles. They represent the country at tournaments organized by both FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF). While Mali is a major youth football power in both Africa and the world, they have never qualified for any senior FIFA World Cup finals in history. They have qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations on 14 occasions. Mali were suspended by FIFA on 17 March 2017 due to 'government interference' with the national football association, namely dissolving its executive committee. Malian Football Federation
The Malian Football Federation () is the governing body of football in Mali. Founded in 1960, it joined the Confederation of African Football, CAF in 1963 and has been affiliated with FIFA since 1964. Its first general secretary was Garan Fabou Kouyate. The federation bureau was dissolved in July 2005 due to the Mali national football team, Malian national football team's poor performance during the FIFA World Cup and the African Nations Cup qualifying. FIFA World Cup Qualification
The FIFA World Cup qualification is a set of competitive matches that a national association football team plays in order to qualify for one of the available berths at the final tournament of the men's FIFA World Cup. Qualifying tournaments are held within the six FIFA continental zones, each organized by their respective confederations: AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), CONCACAF (North and Central America and the Caribbean), CONMEBOL (South America), OFC (Oceania), and UEFA (Europe).
