Johann Bessler
Johann Ernst Elias Bessler (''ca''. 1680 – 30 November 1745), known as Orffyreus or Orffyré, was a German entrepreneur who claimed to have built several perpetual motion machines. Those claims generated considerable interest and controversy among some of the leading natural philosophers of the day, including Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Johann Bernoulli, John Theophilus Desaguliers, and Willem 's Gravesande. The modern scientific consensus is that Bessler perpetrated a deliberate fraud, although the details of this have not been satisfactorily explained. Life and career Bessler was born to a peasant family in Upper Lusatia, in the German Electorate of Saxony, ''circa'' 1680. He went to school in Zittau, where (according to his own account) he excelled in his studies and became a favorite of Christian Weise, the rector of the local ''Gymnasium''. John Bessler
John David Bessler (born October 23, 1967) is an American attorney and academic. He is a professor of law at the University of Baltimore School of Law and an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Law Center. He is the husband of U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar. Education Bessler attended Loyola Catholic School in Mankato, Minnesota, and received his B.A. in political science from the University of Minnesota, J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, M.F.A. in creative writing from Hamline University and his M.St. in international human rights law from Oxford University. Bessler studied international human rights law at Oxford University and wrote articles for the ''Indiana Law Journal'' and the ''Arkansas Law Review''. Bernardo Bessler (born 24 May 1954) is a Brazilian violinist, conductor, teacher, and producer. Bessler was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is among the leading musicians of his country. His recordings have won for five consecutive years the Sharp Award for best classical album, highlight the New York Times among "the best of the year awards" and critics awards from the French magazines ''Répertoire'', '' Le Monde'' and'' Gramophone'', among others. Born in Rio de Janeiro, he began his violin studies at age five with Paulina D'Ambrosio. Later he studied with Yair Kless in Israel ( Rubin Academy in Jerusalem) and with Andre Gertler in Belgium. He plays a violin made in 1735 by Domenico Montagnana. Philip Rudolph Besler (December 9, 1913 — February 13, 1995) was a Canadian hockey player who played 30 games in the National Hockey League with the Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, and Detroit Red Wings between 1935 and 1939.
