Angletrax
Angletrax was a British new wave/punk rock group that existed in the late 1970s, who were signed to Germany's Hansa Records label. The members were: Wendy Herman (vocals), Martin Heath (bass), Lin Jammet (guitar), Jerry Minge (keyboards), Dan Who (drums). In 1979, the band released an EP entitled ''"Things To Make And Do"'' and the LP ''"Angletrax"'' with the following songs: ''Silent Majority, Things to Make and Do, Why Not, Shepherds Bush, Bad Mood, Mental Block, Monica, Private Life, God and Chips, Propaganda Man, I to I, Preconceptions'' The LP was released on Hansa'a Ariola label with number AHAL 8009. Recorded on either side of the arrival in power of Margaret Thatcher, it embodies a mature punk sensibility with echoes of mental instability, the madness of consumerism and urban decay. Hansa Records
Hansa Records (also known as Hansa, Hansa Musik Produktion or Hansa International) was a record label based in Berlin, Germany founded in 1962. History In the early 1960s, brothers Peter and Thomas Meisel, grandchildren of Will Meisel, who was the founder of German music publisher Edition Meisel & Co. GmbH, assumed responsibility of the family's publishing company upon their grandfather's retirement, and founded Hansa Musik Produktion company and the Hansa record label in 1962. The label's name (and the name of the related recording studio) was inspired by the Hanseatic League, a medieval Northern European maritime trade network. New Wave Music
New wave is a music genre that encompasses pop music, pop-oriented styles from the 1970s through the 1980s. It is considered a lighter and more melodic "broadening of Punk subculture, punk culture". Eric's Club
Eric's Club is a music club in Liverpool, England. It opened on 1 October 1976 in the basement of The Fruit Exchange Building in Victoria Street, with performances by The Runaways and The Sex Pistols (their only Liverpool gig) before soon moving around the block to its long-term site on Mathew Street opposite The Cavern Club where The Beatles and other bands of the 1960s played, and became notable for hosting early performances by many punk and post-punk bands. The club was started by Roger Eagle, who had promoted gigs at the Liverpool Stadium between 1970 and 1976 for acts such as T. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music, electronic band formed in Meols, Merseyside in 1978 by Andy McCluskey (vocals, bass guitar) and Paul Humphreys (keyboards, vocals). Regarded as pioneers of electronic music, OMD combined an Experimental music, experimental, Minimal music, minimalist ethos with pop sensibilities, becoming key figures in the emergence of synth-pop; McCluskey and Humphreys also introduced the "synth duo" format to British popular music.
