Aneurysm (song)
"Aneurysm" is a song by the American rock band Nirvana, written by vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic, and drummer Dave Grohl. It first appeared as a B-side on the band's breakthrough " Smells Like Teen Spirit" single in September 1991. A second studio version was released on the rarities compilation '' Incesticide'' in December 1992. The song is believed to be about Cobain's relationship with Tobi Vail of the American punk rock band Bikini Kill. It is also one of the few Nirvana songs to directly reference drug use. A live version, recorded on December 28, 1991, at Del Mar Fairgrounds in Del Mar, California, was released as the first promotional single from the live compilation '' From the Muddy Banks of the Wishkah'' in November 1996. Tobi Celeste Vail (born July 20, 1969) is an American independent musician, music critic and feminist activist from Olympia, Washington. She was a central figure in the riot grrl scene—she coined the spelling of "grrl"—and she started the zine ''Jigsaw''. Steve Fisk
Steve Fisk is an American, Washington-based audio engineer, record producer and musician. As a musician, he has been in bands such as the instrumental alternative/indie rock band Pell Mell and the electronic band Pigeonhed. He has long been associated with the Pacific Northwest music scenes, including grunge and the Sub Pop indie record label. Career Fisk made his solo debut in 1980 with contributions to the compilations '' Let Them Eat Jellybeans!'', ''Sub Pop 5'' and ''Life Elsewhere''. In 1982 Fisk joined the Portland-based instrumental band Pell Mell, which issued records on SST. ''Nirvana: Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!'' is a live video by the American rock band Nirvana, directed by Kevin Kerslake, and released on November 15, 1994, on VHS and laserdisc. It was re-released on DVD on November 7, 2006. Background Conceived by vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain, the film was intended to document Nirvana's unexpected rise to fame following the release of their second album, '' Nevermind'', in September 1991. After Cobain's death in April 1994, it was salvaged for release by surviving Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic, who completed it with editor Steve MacCorkle.
