Amber D (born 1982) is a British hard dance DJ from Staffordshire. She produces and DJs a variety of genres including Hard House, Trance, Hard Techno and Hard Trance. As Amber D’Amour she plays house, electro, fidget, and tech house. She has been a DJ since late 2001. Her first residency was at the legendary Golden, in Hanley Stoke-on-Trent, where she used to warm up for DJs such as Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, K-Klass, Mauro Picotto, and she then DJ'd on BPM Radio In 2002, she won a DJ Competition at Fluffy, and started a residency at the club. She has released records with dance labels such as Tidy Trax, Kiddfectious, and Riot!, and has DJ'd internationally, including Europe, Australia, and Ibiza. She did an Essential Mix live on BBC Radio 1 in 2005. She was “Mixmag Future Hero” in 2004, and one of her tracks was in the top 4 at the Hard Dance Awards 2008. Hard Dance
Hardcore (also known as hardcore techno) is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany in the early 1990s. It is distinguished by faster tempos (160 to 200 BPM or more) and a distorted sawtooth wave, sawtooth kick, the intensity of the Bass drum, kicks and the synthesized bass (in some subgenres), the rhythm and the atmosphere of the themes (sometimes violent), the usage of Distortion (music), saturation and experimentation close to that of electronic body music, industrial dance music. DMC World
The DMC World DJ Championships is an annual DJ competition founded by the Disco Mix Club (DMC) which began in 1985. It has been described as a "pre-eminent competitive DJ event". History Competitors are each given 6 minutes to perform, with winners selected at the end. Championships were sponsored internationally by Technics, but in 2010 Technics was replaced by Serato and Rane. Since 2011, the vinyl emulation software Serato Scratch Live can be used during the competition in addition to traditional vinyl. The first championship, held in the London Hippodrome in 1985, was won by Londoner Roger Johnson. From 1992 to 1994 American DJ Qbert dominated the competition, until being asked to step down in order to "level the playing field". Lee Haslam (born 1975 or 1976) is a British electronic dance music disc jockey and hard house music producer. He has achieved chart success in the UK, performed a BBC Essential Mix, and is also general manager of the Tidy record label. Career Haslam was inspired by Tony De Vit and began his interest in DJing in the 1990s, with his first gig in 1996 in Doncaster. He applied for a job at record label Tidy Trax, and passed the interview by showcasing his DJ skills. Initially doing commercial mixes he moved into club promotions and by the year 2000 had been promoted to label manager. From 2007, until the closure in 2013, he was the director of the Slinky nightclub in Bournemouth. From 2013 Haslam worked for the Gatecrasher brand organising events in Great Britain and worldwide. UK Hard House
UK hard house or simply hard house is a style of electronic dance music that emerged in the early 1990s and is synonymous with its association to the Trade club and the associated DJs there that created the style. It often features a speedy tempo (around 150 BPM but hard house ranges from around 135 BPM to around 165 BPM), offbeat bass stabs, hoovers and horns. It usually contains a break in the middle of the track where no drums are present. UK hard house often uses a long and sharp string note to create suspense. Most of the time, the drops are introduced by a drum roll.
