The 2024 Stu Sells Toronto Tankard was held from October 10 to 14 at the High Park Club in Toronto with select games taking place at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Ontario. The event was held in a triple knockout format with a purse of $42,000 on the men's side and $40,000 on the women's side. It was the second Stu Sells sponsored event held as part of the 2024–25 season. Kim Seon-yeong (curler)
Kim Seon-yeong (born May 18, 1993), nicknamed "Sunny", is a South Korean curler. She was the second, but now plays lead on Team Kim Eun-jung. The Kim team represented South Korea at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where they won a silver medal. Career Juniors Kim played in five straight Pacific-Asia Junior Curling Championships for South Korea from 2010 to 2014. She played second for the team, which was skipped by Kim Eun-jung in 2010 and 2012, and was the alternate in 2011 (but played no games). In 2013 and 2014, she played third for the team, which was skipped by Kim Kyeong-ae. She won silver medals at the event from 2010 to 2013 inclusive, a bronze medal in 2013, and a gold in 2014. The Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, also known as the Stu Sells Tankard, is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the High Park Club in Toronto, Ontario. The event is held in a triple-knock out format, but was held in a round-robin for many years. The tournament is sponsored by Stu Sells, a local real estate company, and is part of the "Stu Sells Series" or events, which includes the Stu Sells Oakville Tankard, the Stu Sells 1824 Halifax Classic, and a number of other junior and local tour events. The men's event became a World Curling Tour event in 2011, but was later discontinued after the 2019 edition. The women's event became a World Curling Tour event in 2016, but was also discontinued in 2020. Both the men's and women's events are also part of the Ontario Curling Tour. 2023 Stu Sells Tankard
The 2023 Stu Sells Tankard was held from October 5 to 9 at the Barrie Curling Club in Barrie, Ontario. The event was held in a round-robin format with a purse of $30,000 on the men's side and $21,000 on the women's side. It was the second Stu Sells sponsored event held as part of the 2023–24 season. In the men's final, Japan's Yusuke Morozumi led his team of Yuta Matsumura, Ryotaro Shukuya, Masaki Iwai and Kosuke Morozumi to a triumphant 8–2 victory over South Korea's Jeong Byeong-jin. Morozumi opened the game with a count of five in the opening end. Jeong replied with two in the second before the Japanese answered back with three in third to bring the game to an early close. The Morozumi rink finished 3–1 through the round robin and scored playoff wins over Marco Hösli and Mike Fournier to reach the final. Silvana Petra Tirinzoni (born 25 June 1979) is a Swiss curler from Zurich. She is a four-time women's world champion skip (, , , ) and five-time Grand Slam champion. She is a former world junior champion and reigning European champion.
