2024 BAL Final
The 2024 BAL final is the championship game of the 2024 BAL season, the third season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), and the conclusion of the playoffs. The final will be played on 1 June 2024 in the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, which hosts the final for a fourth consecutive year. The final was contested by Angolan club Petro de Luanda and Libyan club Al Ahly Ly. Petro de Luada defeated Al Ahly Ly with a score of 107–94, winning their first-ever BAL title and their third continental championship, including the FIBA Africa Clubs Champions Cup. As winners, Petro de Luanda, qualified for the 2024 FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Background Petro de Luanda became the second team to play in two BAL finals, returning after just one season and having already played and lost the 2022 finals. 2024 BAL Season
The 2024 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 4, will be the 4th season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season will begin in March 2024 and will finish with the playoffs and finals in the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, for a fourth consecutive season. The league was expanded to 48 games, including four venues, as South Africa will host the inaugural Kalahari Conference. Al Ahly are the defending champions, having won the previous edition. Venues On 19 June 2023, the BAL and the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) announced they agreed on a multi-year extension to their collaboration. Under the extension, it was agreed that the BK Arena in Kigali will host the playoffs and finals in the 2024, 2026 and 2028 seasons. Road To BAL
The Road to BAL, also known as the BAL Qualifying Tournaments, are the qualifying tournaments of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The organization of the qualifiers is in hands of FIBA Africa. The first qualifying rounds were held on 16 October 2019. The qualifiers are geographically divided into the West and East Division, with three teams qualifying out of each division. Semi-finals and finals are played to determine the winners of the qualifying tournaments. Format The national champions of each national federation (associated with FIBA Africa) can sign up for the BAL qualifiers. In the inaugural edition, a total of 31 teams from 31 countries participate in the qualifying tournaments to determine which six teams will play in the 2020 BAL regular season, along with six directly placed six teams. 2023–24 Al Ahly Men's Basketball Season
The 2023–24 season Al Ahly men's basketball season is the 94th season of Al Ahly's men's basketball team. This season, the Reds are the defending champions in the Basketball Africa League (BAL). They also made their debut in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup, finishing fourth, and became the first African team to ever win a game in the competition following their 21 September win over the NBA G League Ignite. The 2023–24 season of the Cape Town Tigers was the 4th season in the team's history. Following their championship in the 2023 Basketball National League (BNL), the Tigers played in the Road to BAL. 2023–24 Bangui Sporting Club Season
The 2023–24 season of Bangui Sporting Club marks the debut season of the team in the Basketball Africa League (BAL), following their successful qualification through the Road to BAL. Bangui SC becomes the first team from the Central African Republic to play in the competition. 2024 BAL Nile Conference
The 2024 BAL Nile Conference was the 3rd season of the Nile Conference, one of the three conferences of the 2024 season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The composition of the conference and the schedule were announced on 15 February 2024. The conference games began on 19 April and ended on 27 April 2024. Al Ahly won the conference with a 5–1 record, and Al Ahly Ly qualified for the playoffs as second ranked team. The 2024 BAL Kalahari Conference is the inaugural season of the Kalahari Conference, one of the three conferences of the Basketball Africa League (BAL).
