2024 Austrian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The 2024 Austrian motorcycle Grand Prix (officially known as the Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich) was the eleventh round of the 2024 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season and the seventh round of the 2024 MotoE World Championship. All races (except for both MotoE races which were held on 17 August) were held at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Styria, Spielberg on 18 August 2024. Red Bull Ring
The Red Bull Ring is a motorsport race track in Spielberg, Austria, Spielberg, Styria, Austria. The race circuit was founded as Österreichring (translation: Austrian Circuit) and hosted the Austrian Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from to . It was later shortened, rebuilt and renamed the A1-Ring (A Eins-Ring), and it hosted the Austrian Grand Prix again from to . When Formula One outgrew the circuit, a plan was drawn up to extend the layout. Parts of the circuit, including the pits and main grandstand, were demolished, but construction work was stopped and the circuit remained unusable for several years before it was purchased by Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz and rebuilt. Maverick Viñales Ruiz (; born 12 January 1995) is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer. Viñales is the 2013 Moto3 World Champion, currently riding in MotoGP for the Aprilia Racing team, after five seasons as a MotoGP factory rider with the Yamaha Factory Racing team, his contract was terminated by mutual consent midway through the 2021 season. Marco Bezzecchi (born 12 November 1998) is an Italian Grand Prix motorcycle racer, competing for Mooney VR46 Racing Team in the 2023 MotoGP World Championship. Career Junior career Bezzecchi won the Italian Moto3 championship in 2015, and also made his debut in the 2015 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship that season. He ended the year 16th in the standings, with 29 points, finishing in the top-10 on three occasions. The 2024 MotoE World Championship (known officially as the 2024 FIM Enel MotoE World Championship for sponsorship reasons) is the sixth season of the MotoE World Championship for electric motorcycle racing and is part of the 76th F.I.M. Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. Teams and riders All teams use the series-specified Ducati.
