2023 World Athletics Indoor Tour
The 2023 World Athletics Indoor Tour was the eighth edition of the World Athletics Indoor Tour, the highest series of international track and field indoor meetings. The tour expanded in 2022 with the introduction of four tiers of competition labelled Gold, Silver, Bronze and Challenger in a mirror of the outdoor World Athletics Continental Tour. In 2023, the addition of further events means the tour now comprising 54 meetings in Europe, North America and Asia, and retains seven gold standard events, five in Europe and two in the United States. For 2023 the Gold level scoring disciplines were: the men's 400 metres, 400m, 1500 metres, 1500m, 60 metres, 60m, Hurdling, hurdles, high jump and long jump, as well as the women's 60m, 800 metres, 800m, 3000/5000m, pole vault, triple jump and shot put. The 2023 Birmingham Indoor Grand Prix was the 18th edition of the annual indoor athletics meeting in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Held on 25 February, it was the final leg of the 2023 World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series – the highest-level international indoor track and field athletics circuit. The Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais (formerly Meeting Pas de Calais) also called Meeting International de Liévin (''International Meeting of Liévin'') is an annual indoor track and field competition which takes place in February at Arena Stade Couvert in Liévin, France. It is one of the events of the World Athletics Indoor Tour organised by World Athletics. History The first meeting was held in 1988, two years after the construction of the Arena Stade Couvert de Liévin to host the 1987 European Athletics Indoor Championships. From 1988 onwards, the meeting was held every year until and including 2006, skipping 2007-2008 and then being held from 2009 to 2012. Due to technical problems and work delays, the 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 editions were cancelled. In 2018, the meeting was held again as an EA Indoor Permit Meeting. The 2023 Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais was the 29th edition of the annual indoor athletics meeting in Liévin, France. Held on 15 February, it was the fifth leg of the 2023 World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series – the highest-level international indoor track and field athletics circuit. At the meeting, Lamecha Girma broke the world record for 3000 metres with a time of 7:23.81. The prior record by Daniel Komen stood since 1998. Femke Bol and Karsten Warholm broke the women's and men's 400 metres meeting records respectively. Millrose Games
The Millrose Games are an annual indoor athletics (track & field) meet held each February in New York City. Among the world's most prestigious indoor track meets, the games started taking place at the Armory in Washington Heights in 2012, after having taken place in Madison Square Garden from 1914 to 2011. The games were started when employees of the New York City branch of Wanamaker's department store formed the Millrose Track Club to hold a meet. Today, the Millrose Games feature elite competitions for athletes at all levels, including youth, club, masters, high school, collegiate, and professional levels. Held on 8 February, it was the third leg of the 2023 World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold series – the highest-level international indoor track and field circuit.
