2022 Zinsser SmartCoat 200
The 2022 Zinsser SmartCoat 200 was the seventh stock car race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series season, the third race of the 2022 Sioux Chief Showdown, and the 22nd iteration of the event. The race was held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, in Marne, Michigan at Berlin Raceway, a 0.438 mile (0.705 km) permanent tri-oval racetrack. The race took the scheduled 200 laps to complete. Daniel Dye, driving for GMS Racing, dominated the entire race, leading 192 laps. After suffering a mechanical problem with ten laps to go, Sammy Smith, driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports, would take over the lead, and earn his first career ARCA Menards Series win in only his sixth start. Daniel Dye (born December 4, 2003) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 43 Chevrolet Silverado for GMS Racing. Racing career ARCA Menards Series East 2020–2021 Dye would first race in the ARCA Menards Series East in 2020, driving the No. 43 for Ben Kennedy Racing. Dye would race two races that season, retiring at New Smyrna Speedway and finishing seventh at Five Flags Speedway. Dye would come back in the 2021 season, this time with a scheduled full-time ride with Ben Kennedy Racing. Andrew Hillenburg (born April 30, 1963) is an American former professional stock car racing driver and current team owner and track owner. His race team, Fast Track Racing, fields multiple cars in the ARCA Menards Series and formerly fielded entries in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The USAC Stock Car division was the stock car racing class sanctioned by the United States Auto Club (USAC). The American Speed Association (ASA) is a sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States formed in 1968. The Association was based in Pendleton, Indiana, and later in Daytona Beach, Florida. The ASA sanctioned asphalt and dirt tracks in their ASA Member Track program along with racing series in the United States and Canada. The ASA was most famous for a national touring series which began in 1973 but was discontinued in 2004 due to financial difficulties.
