2022 Rhein Fire Season
The 2022 Rhein Fire season is the inaugural season of the new Rhein Fire team in the European League of Football from Düsseldorf, Germany. For this season the franchise will play their home games in the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg near to its headquarter. Preseason After signing multiple coaches, the newly founded franchise announced the signing of their first player Sven Breidenbach for the 2022 season. In the following, the team planned to organise an invitational combine for December 18, 2021. Jim Tomsula
James Andrew Tomsula (born April 14, 1968) is an American football coach and head coach of the Rhein Fire of the European League of Football. Serving as a defensive coach throughout his career, Tomsula has also been the head coach for the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe and the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). Tomsula was born and raised in the Pittsburgh suburb of Homestead. Attending Catawba College, he played defensive end from 1987 to 1990, after transferring from Middle Tennessee State University after the 1986 season. At Catawba College, Tomsula made 109 tackles in two seasons. Coaching career Catawba College Tomsula began his coaching career as a strength and conditioning coach at Catawba College in 1989. The Paul Greifzu Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Dessau-Roßlau. It is one of the most modern stadia in Saxony-Anhalt. Overview Eight peace doves heralded the opening of the Paul Greifzu Stadium in Dessau in October 1952. It was named after German motorsport racer and constructor Paul Greifzu who had died in a training accident in Dessau in May that same year. The stadium had been built by voluntary work on dozens of tons of rubble from the ruins of Dessau. Altogether, 51,000 hours of work were spent to construct a 35,000 capacity stadium. It soon became a location for regional athletics championships. During the GDR era, little was done for the maintenance and preservation of the stadium. The Leipzig Kings are an American football team in Leipzig, Germany, that plays in the European League of Football (ELF). History The Leipzig franchise was announced along with Berlin Thunder and Cologne Centurions in March 2021, as part of the inaugural season of the European League of Football.
