The head coach and offensive coordinator Andreas Nommensen stated in December 2021 that he won't return for the 2022 season for personal reasons. On February 3, 2022, Charles "Yogi" Jones was officially announced as the new head coach for the season. Charles "Yogi" Jones
Charles "Yogi" Jones is a former American football linebacker who played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at University of Pittsburgh. For the 2022 European League of Football season he is the new head coach of the Hamburg Sea Devils. Early years Jones arrived as a freshman at Pitt in 1978. He played his last game as a fifth-year-senior tri-captain for the No. 1-ranked University of Pittsburgh team in 1982. Professional career Charles "Yogi" Jones signed 1983 as an undrafted rookie with the Dallas Cowboys. He was injured after preseason games and in training camp, forcing him to end his professional career. John Shoop
John Shoop (born August 1, 1969) is an American football coach and former quarterback, who is the current head coach of the Nordic Storm in the European League of Football (ELF). He played college football at Sewanee. He has coached in the National Football League (NFL) and at the collegiate level. Early life Growing up in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, Shoop played quarterback in high school, and continued his football career at Sewanee: The University of the South. Shoop was a member of the Tigers football team from 1987 to 1990, starting from 1988 to 1990. As a senior captain in 1990, Shoop lead the Tigers to a Collegiate Athletic Conference title. History On 11 January 2021, it was announced that a new franchise in Barcelona would be one of the eight teams to play in the inaugural season of the European League of Football. 2022 Rhein Fire Season
The 2022 Rhein Fire season was the inaugural season of the new Rhein Fire team in the European League of Football from Düsseldorf, Germany. For this season, the franchise played their home games in the Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena in Duisburg near to its headquarter. Preseason After signing multiple coaches, the newly founded franchise announced the signing of their first player Sven Breidenbach for the 2022 season.
