2011–12 Iraqi First Division League
The 2011–12 Iraqi First Division League was the 38th season of what is now called the Iraqi Premier Division League, the second tier of the Iraqi football league system, since its establishment in 1974. The number of clubs in the league have varied throughout history for various reasons. The top two teams in Final round (winner of each group) are promoted to the Iraqi Premier League. The season began on Sunday 22 January 2012. In the final round, Naft Al-Janoob won the group 1 after facing Al-Mosul, while Sulaymaniya won the group 2 after facing Naft Maysan. Both teams were promoted to the Premier League, and qualified for the final match during which the champion is determined. The final match was scheduled for August 14, 2012 at Al-Shaab Stadium in Baghdad. In the final match, Sulaymaniya managed to defeat Naft Al-Janoob 2–1 and win the First Division League title. Iraqi Premier Division League
The Iraqi Premier Division League () is the second-highest division of the Iraqi football league system after the Iraq Stars League. The league is contested by 20 clubs and is operated by the Iraq Football Association (IFA). Each season, the two top-finishing teams in the Premier Division League are automatically promoted to the Stars League, while the third-placed team enters a promotion play-off. The two lowest-finishing teams are relegated to the First Division League. From the 2023–24 season, the competition's name was changed from First Division League to Premier Division League. In the 2023–24 season, Diyala won the title and was promoted alongside runners-up Al-Karma. Al-Minaa are the record holders in the tournament having won three titles. Al-Falluja Sport Club (), is an Iraqi football team based in Fallujah, Al-Anbar, that plays in Iraqi First Division League. Stadium The Al-Fallujah Stadium was rehabilitated in 2013 by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and after this year, ISIS took control of the Al-Fallujah Stadium when it occupied the Al Anbar Governorate.
