2009 TT Pro League
The 2009 TT Pro League season (known as the ''Digicel Pro League'' for sponsorship reasons) was the eleventh season of the TT Pro League, the Trinidad and Tobago professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1999. A total of eleven teams contested the league, with San Juan Jabloteh the defending champions. The season began on 8 May, with ''Super Friday'', and ended on 27 October. The format of the season was changed from each club playing three rounds to two rounds in the regular season to facilitate the national team with its attempt to qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Police were re-admitted into the league following a one-year absence, whereas FC South End were admitted as a new club. However, North East Stars withdrew siting the state of their home ground, Sangre Grande Recreational Ground, for the past few years as the cause to sit out the season. TT Pro League
The TT Premier Football League (formerly known as the TT Pro League) is the Trinidad and Tobago professional league for association football clubs. It is the country's primary football competition and serves as the top division in the Trinidad and Tobago football league system. Contested by twelve clubs, the league is one of the world's few football leagues that does not operate on an automatic system of promotion and relegation. Seasons run from September to May, with teams playing 18 games each totaling 90 games in the season. Manny Ramjohn Stadium
The Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, located in Marabella, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, is named for long-distance runner Manny Ramjohn, the first person to win a gold medal for Trinidad and Tobago in a major international sporting event. TT Pro League Golden Boot
The TT Pro League Golden Boot is an annual Trinidad and Tobago football award given at the beginning of each TT Pro League calendar year to the top goalscorer for the previous season. The Golden Boot has been awarded since the establishment of the Pro League in 1999. The top-scoring Pro League Golden Boot winner is Arnold Dwarika with 45 goals in 28 games during the league's inaugural season. Devorn Jorsling has won the award the most times (4) having scored the most league goals during the 2008, 2010–11, 2012–13, and 2014–15 seasons, all when playing for the ''Teteron Boys'' of Defence Force. Jorsling remains the only player to have won the Golden Boot on more than one occasion with his most successful campaigns in 2008, 2012–13, and 2014–15 after leading the league with 21 goals each season. Hat-trick
A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three Wicket#Dismissing a batsman, wickets with three consecutive delivery (cricket), deliveries. Walter Moore (footballer, Born 1984)
Walter Moore (born September 1, 1984) is a Guyanese former professional footballer who played as a left-back and left midfielder. He is the Guyana national team's most-capped footballer. Club career Moore has played extensively in Trinidad and Tobago TT Pro League, for North East Stars and Caledonia AIA. He was part of the Caledonia team which won both the Trinidad and Tobago Cup and the Trinidad and Tobago Pro Bowl in 2008. Moore was loaned by Caledonia AIA to Charlotte Eagles of the USL Pro league in April 2011. Moore left FC Astana-1964 during the summer of 2014. Laventille
Laventille is a suburb of Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago. It is administered by the San Juan–Laventille Regional Corporation. Morvant
Morvant (pronounced, in the local English dialect, "mor-vuh") is a community in Trinidad and Tobago located east of Port of Spain in the region of San Juan-Laventille.
