2007 Netball Superleague Grand Final
The 2007 Netball Superleague Grand Final featured Team Bath and Galleria Mavericks. Team Bath would eventually retain the title but in the grand final it was Mavericks who started the stronger and were leading 10–12 after the first quarter and 21–22 at half time. Both Rachel Dunn and Pamela Cookey initially underperformed for Team Bath. However in the third quarter, Cookey scored 7/8 while Player of the Match, Geva Mentor, made a number of key turnovers to deny Mavericks shooting opportunities. Their combined efforts saw Team Bath take the lead for the first time. However a return of 9/9 from Mavericks' Louisa Brownfield saw Team Bath lead by just 36–35 after three quarters. With just four minutes remaining the score was still 45–45. However after an injury time out, Team Bath returned the stronger with both Dunn and Cookey converting the goals that eventually saw them finish as winners by 53–45. 2006–07 Netball Superleague Season
The 2006–07 Netball Superleague season saw Team Bath finish as champions for the second time. Team Bath retained the title without losing a single match all season. For a second successive season they defeated Galleria Mavericks in the grand final. This was also the first season that Sky Sports began to broadcast matches. Sara Bayman
Sara Francis-Bayman ( Bayman, born 23 December 1984) is an English former netball player and coach from Billinge near Wigan, England. She is currently an Assistant Coach for the West Coast Fever in the Suncorp Super Netball. Playing career At a club level, Bayman started her career at Team Bath and has represented Manchester Thunder and UWS Sirens in the Netball Superleague, and Central Pulse in the ANZ Premiership. Team Bath (netball) Matches
Team Bath is the University of Bath's sporting organisation. In addition to entering teams in BUCS intervarsity competitions, Team Bath has also entered teams in national leagues and competitions. Team Bath F.C. reached the first round proper of the 2002–03 FA Cup. They become the first university team to reach this stage since Oxford University A.F.C. in 1880. In 2005–06 the netball team were both founder members and the inaugural champions of the Netball Superleague. They were Superleague champions again in 2006–07, 2008–09, 2009–10 and 2013. The field hockey club enter a team in the Men's England Hockey League. Team Bath's main sports complex is the Sports Training Village based at the University of Bath campus at Claverton Down. Amanda Newton (netball)
Amanda Newton (born 8 April 1977) is a former England netball international. She was a member of the England teams that won bronze medals at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and at the 1999 World Netball Championships. She captained England at the 2007 World Netball Championships. Between 2001 and 2010 she played in seven senior finals and won four national titles with three different teams – London Tornadoes, Northern Thunder and Mavericks. Early life and education Newton is originally from the Forest Gate/Newham area of East London. She attended St Angela's Ursuline School where she first took netball seriously. Karen Atkinson (netball)
Karen Helen Atkinson (née Aspinall; born 7 June 1978) is an English netball coach and former international netball player. Atkinson first represented England in netball in 1994, and was selected for the senior England team in 1997. During her international career, she has won bronze medals at three Commonwealth Games (1998, 2006 and 2010), as well as in the 1999 Netball World Championships. She also won silver with the England team at the 2010 World Netball Series in Liverpool. Fiona Murtagh (netball)
Fiona Murtagh (born 30 April 1967) is a former England netball international. She was a member of the England teams that won bronze medals at the 1989 World Games, the 1998 Commonwealth Games and the 1999 World Netball Championships. She captained England at the 1998 Commonwealth Games. In 2000, she was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire. Maggie Jackson
Maggie Jackson is a former England netball international and netball coach. She was head coach when England were bronze medallists at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She was Mavericks head coach when they won the 2007–08 and 2011 Netball Superleague titles. In 2012, she was awarded an MBE. In 2020 she was inducted into England Netball's Hall of Fame. Serena Guthrie
Serena Monique Guthrie (born 5 January 1990) is a former netball player from Jersey who played internationally for England. She played in the Centre, Wing Attack and Wing Defence positions. She was a dynamic player, known for her speed and athleticism, with a keen eye for the intercept. She made the squad in 2008, debuting soon after when she was just 17 years old, and has so far earned over 50 caps for her country. In domestic netball, she played for Team Bath until 2015, when she signed with the Northern Mystics in New Zealand, having previously trained with the team in 2012. In 2017 Guthrie began playing for Giants Netball in the Australian Suncorp Super Netball league. Sasha Da Costa (; born 23 April 1988) is a former English international and Netball Super League player for Hertfordshire Mavericks and Team Bath.
