1903–04 FC Basel Season
The FC Basel 1903–04 season was their eleventh season in their existence. The club's chairman was Ernst-Alfred Thalmann, who took over the chairmanship at the AGM for the third time in the club's history. FC Basel played their home games in the Landhof in the Quarter Kleinbasel. Overview With over 40 active footballers and over 70 patron members Basel were the second largest club in Switzerland at this time, larger was only Grasshopper Club Zürich. Basel's first team played in the Serie A and the second team in the Serie B. Daniel Hug (the team's most prominent, their best and their largest player) was named as team captain and as captain he led the team trainings and was responsible for the line-ups. Basler Sportclub Old Boys, commonly known as BSC Old Boys, Old Boys Basel or simply Old Boys or when written just OB, is a Swiss sports club based in Basel, Switzerland. Percy Kaufmann (date of birth unknown) was a footballer who played as striker or as midfielder in the early 1900s. Football career Kaufmann joined FC Basel's first team for their 1902–03 season. He played his domestic league debut for the club in the home game on 2 November 1902 as Basel were beaten 1–4 by FC Bern. Karl Gossweiler (23 December 1884 – 24 April 1940) was a Swiss footballer who played as forward in the early 1900s. Football career Gossweiler joined FC Basel's first team during their 1902–03 season. He played his first game for the club in the home game on 15 March 1903. Adolf Ramseyer
Adolf Ramseyer (born in 1883 – 22 February 1951) was a Swiss footballer who played for FC Basel in the early 1900s as defender. Ramseyer joined Basel's first team for their 1901–02 season. After playing in two test games, Ramseyer played his domestic league debut for the club in the away game on 20 October 1901 as Basel were defeated 0–2 by Old Boys. Ramseyer scored his first goal for his club on 28 February 1904 in the home game in the Landhof against FC Floria Biel-Bienne as Basel won 6–0.
