Percy Kaufmann
Percy Kaufmann (date of birth unknown) was a footballer who played as striker or as midfielder in the early 1900s. Football career Kaufmann joined FC Basel's first team for their 1902–03 season. He played his domestic league debut for the club in the home game on 2 November 1902 as Basel were beaten 1–4 by FC Bern. Kaufmann played six of the eight league matches that season and the team finished the group stage in third position in the league table. Kaufmann was also regular starter in the following two seasons. 1902–03 FC Basel Season
The FC Basel 1902–03 season was their tenth season in their existence. The club's chairman was Ernst-Alfred Thalmann, who had taken over the position for the second time, he stood down at the AGM and Josy Ebinger was elected. He became the fifth chairman in the club's history. FC Basel first played their home games in the Thiersteinerallee and later they returned to the Landhof. Landhof
The Landhof was a sports stadium in the district Basel-Wettstein in Kleinbasel, Basel. It was the former and first home stadium of FC Basel. It is mentioned for the first time in a chronicle in the second half of the 18th century as a ''nice summer house with beautiful property''. The best known owner of the manor was , a member of the Merian family. He was Mayor of Basel and Landammann of Switzerland (highest office at the time). In 1892 the granddaughter of Merian-Iselin sold the Landhof to a certain Katharina Ehrler-Wittich. As the Football Club Basel 1893 was founded in 1893 and look for a ground to play, she made the Landhof available free of charge as a playing surface.
