Eugen Stutz
Eugen Stutz (date of birth unknown) was a Swiss footballer who played as goalkeeper during the early 1900s. Football career Stutz joined FC Basel's first team for their 1901–02 season. During his first season with the team, he played in two test games and again during his second season he also played another two friendlies. He also played for their reserve team in the Serie B, the second tier of Swiss football. Stutz played his domestic league debut for the Basel's first team in their 1903–04 season. 1903–04 FC Basel Season
The FC Basel 1903–04 season was their eleventh season in their existence. The club's chairman was Ernst-Alfred Thalmann, who took over the chairmanship at the AGM for the third time in the club's history. FC Basel played their home games in the Landhof in the Quarter Kleinbasel. Overview With over 40 active footballers and over 70 patron members Basel were the second largest club in Switzerland at this time, larger was only Grasshopper Club Zürich. Landhof
The Landhof was a sports stadium in the district Basel-Wettstein in Kleinbasel, Basel. It was the former and first home stadium of FC Basel. It is mentioned for the first time in a chronicle in the second half of the 18th century as a ''nice summer house with beautiful property''. The best known owner of the manor was , a member of the Merian family. He was Mayor of Basel and Landammann of Switzerland (highest office at the time). In 1892 the granddaughter of Merian-Iselin sold the Landhof to a certain Katharina Ehrler-Wittich.
