Roberval (provincial Electoral District)
Roberval is a provincial electoral district in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada, that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Dolbeau-Mistassini, Saint-Félicien, Roberval, Normandin, Saint-Prime and Albanel. It was created for the 1931 election from parts of the Lac-Saint-Jean provincial electoral district. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it gained Saint-André-du-Lac-Saint-Jean and part of the unorganized territory of Passes-Dangereuses from Lac-Saint-Jean electoral district. The district is named after 16th century French explorer Jean-François de la Roque de Roberval. Saint-Félicien is a city in the Canadian province of Quebec. The town is located within the Le Domaine-du-Roy Regional County Municipality in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region. Its population as of 2021 is 10,089. Geography The municipality is located on the western shores of Lac Saint-Jean north of Roberval, near the mouth of the Ashuapmushuan River. It is accessible from Chibougamau and northern Quebec via Quebec Route 167 and from locations around the lake and elsewhere across central and southern Quebec via Quebec Route 169. Passes-Dangereuses (until May 2009: Chute-des-Passes) is an unorganized territory in the Canadian province of Quebec, located between the Peribonka River on the east and the Mistassibi River on the west. Geography The territory, part of the regional county municipality of Maria-Chapdelaine, covered a land area of and had a population of 210 as of the Canada 2021 Census, all living in the village of Sainte-Élisabeth-de-Proulx (), which is north-east of Dolbeau-Mistassini in the geographic township of Proulx. Lac-Ashuapmushuan, Quebec
Lac-Ashuapmushuan is an unorganized territory in the Canadian province of Quebec, Canada, located in the regional county municipality of Le Domaine-du-Roy. The region had a population of 140 as of the Canada 2021 Census, and covered a land area of 14,684.28 km2. It is home to the Ashuapmushuan Wildlife Reserve. The eponymous Ashuapmushuan Lake is roughly in the centre of the territory. This lake, about long by wide, is the source of the Ashuapmushuan River. Its name is of Innu origin, meaning "place where one lies in wait for moose". In 1685, French fur traders set up a trading post near Lake Ashuapmushuan that remained almost continuously in operation until the middle of the 19th century. Mashteuiatsh, Quebec
Mashteuiatsh is a First Nations reserve in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada, about north from the centre of Roberval. It is the home to the Pekuakamiulnuatsh First Nation. It is located on a headland jutting out on the western shores of Lake Saint-Jean known as Pointe-Bleue, in the geographic township of Ouiatchouan, and belongs to the Montagnais du Lac St-Jean Innu band. It is geographically within the Le Domaine-du-Roy Regional County Municipality but administratively not part of it. Previously officially known as Ouiatchouan Reserve, it was renamed Mashteuiatsh in 1985, from ''Ka Mesta8iats'', meaning "where there is a point" or "seeing one yet again at the point".
