Karim Ojjeh
Karim Ojjeh ( ar, كريم عجة; born 27 August 1965 in Geneva) is a Saudi Arabian businessman and racing driver. He is the younger brother of Mansour Ojjeh and son of Akram Ojjeh. He is a director of TAG Finance S.A. In his spare time he races in the Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Racing career Between 1991 and 1994, Ojjeh attended the Jim Russell Racing Driver School. He raced in Formula Palmer Audi between 2002 and 2004. He made his Le Mans Series debut in 2004 in a Ferrari 360 Modena. In 2005, he competed full-time in the series for Paul Belmondo Racing in an LMP2 Courage- AER, winning two races. Ojjeh and the team finished second in class at the 2005 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ojjeh continued racing with the team in 2006, but for 2007, he moved to Barazi-Epsilon, winning two LMS races in their Zytek. Barazi-Epsilon is a racing team owned by engineer Michel Lecomte and entrepreneur turned amateur racer Juan Barazi. The team's base is in Le Mans. The team was founded in 2000 as Epsilon Sport from the remains of the Graff Racing's Formula Three operations. The 75th 24 Hours of Le Mans (French: ''75e 24 Heures du Mans'') was a 24-hour automobile endurance race for Le Mans Prototype and Grand Touring cars, which took place at the Circuit de la Sarthe, near Le Mans, France, from 16 to 17 June 2007. It was the 75th edition of the event, as organised by the automotive group, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO) since 1923. Unlike other events, it was not a part of any endurance motor racing championship. A test day was held two weeks prior to the race on 3 June. The event was attended by 250,952 spectators. Pierre Ragues (born 10 January 1984 in Caen) is a French racing driver, who competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship. Career Karting Debuting in karting in 1994, Ragues was second in the Monaco Kart Cup in Formula A in 2001, and third in the French Elite Championship. Since starting to race cars, Ragues has continued to compete in karts. Single-seaters Ragues started racing cars in 2003 when he took part in Formula Renault Campus in France, finishing runner-up to dominant champion Laurent Groppi and scoring one race win. 2006 24 Hours Of Le Mans
The 2006 24 Hours of Le Mans was the 74th Grand Prix of Endurance, and took place over 17–18 June 2006. The winners of the race were Frank Biela, Marco Werner, and Emanuele Pirro, driving the Audi R10 TDI. For the first time in the history of the race, the winner was a diesel-powered car. Pre-race Prior to this race the ACO redeveloped the area around the Dunlop Curve and Dunlop Chicane, moving the Dunlop Curve in tighter to create more run-off area, while also turning the Dunlop Chicane into a larger set of turns. As part of the development, a new extended pit lane exit was created for motorcycles running the Bugatti Circuit. This second pit exit re-enters the track just beyond the Dunlop Chicane and before the Dunlop Bridge. The Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S was a LMP1-class Le Mans prototype race car, built by Zytek Engineering following their partial merger with Ginetta. It was an evolutionary update of the Zytek 07S, with the bodywork altered for the 2009 LMP regulations. The GZ09S/2 was a LMP2-class version of the same car (for 2011, it became a LMP1-class car, due to rule changes, and became known as the Zytek 09SC.) Ginetta Cars Limited is a British specialist builder of racing and sports cars based in Garforth, Leeds, West Yorkshire. History 20th century Ginetta was founded in 1958 by four Walklett brothers (Bob, Ivor, Trevers and Douglas) in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
