KSV Waregem
Koninklijke Sportvereniging Waregem was a Belgian football club that existed between 1925 and 2001. It played three spells at the highest level in the Belgian football league system each separated by a single season at the second level: from 1966 to 1972, from 1973 to 1994 and in 1995–96. Their best ranking was reached in 1968, 1985 and 1993 when they finished fourth. History ''Waereghem Sportif'' (in French) was founded in 1925 in Waregem, West Flanders, then changed its name to ''Waregem Sportief'' (its Dutch translation) in 1945. One year later, the club merged with Red Star Waregem to become S.V. Waregem. The new team became a member of the national association on the same year and was assigned the matricule number 4451. In 1951 the club received the right to be called royal (Dutch: ''Koninklijk'') which was at the time given to any team founded 25 years before. K.S.V. Belgian Supercup
The Belgian Super Cup ( nl, Belgische Supercup, ; french: Supercoupe de Belgique; german: Belgischer Fußball-Super Cup), ''Pro League Supercup'', is a Belgian club competition played as a single match between the Belgian First Division A champions (also received the Super Cup host) and the Belgian Cup winners. If both teams are the same, the Belgian Cup runners-up participates as the second club. The most successful Super Cup club is Club Brugge with 17 titles, followed by Anderlecht (13), Standard Liège (4), Genk (2) and Lierse (2). It was created in 1979 and held every year since, with the only exception 1989 and 2020. The current holders are Club Brugge, who defeated Gent 1-0 in the 2022 match. Hans Croon
Hans Croon (25 May 1936 – 5 February 1985) was a Dutch football manager who won the 1976 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup Final with Anderlecht. Managerial career As well as Anderlecht, Croon coached in the Netherlands and Belgium with DWS, VER, HVC, FC Volendam, K.S.V. Waregem, Lierse S.K. and NEC. His Anderlecht side won the 1976 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup with a 4–2 victory over West Ham United on 5 May 1976 at Heysel Stadium in Brussels. He also won the Belgian Cup in 1976 with Anderlecht. He left Belgium and moved to NEC, and coached the team until 1978. He later succeeded compatriot Kees Rijvers at Beringen, with whom he suffered relegation from the Eerste Klasse. In 1995, it was reported that Croon was persuading players to take drugs during his short tenure at FC VVV. Robert Goethals
Robert Goethals (16 June 1922 – 7 July 2011) was a Belgian football player and coach. Playing career Goethals was born in Brasschaat. A midfielder, he played at AA Gent during and after the Second World War. He played 19 games with the team in the First Division. 1948, Goethals signed a contract in Third Division SV Waregem and he finished his career at SK Roeselare in Fourth Division. Managerial career Goethals studied Physical Education and started a career as coach after his playing career. In 1978–79, he graduated to First Division. Before, he had been the coach of, among others VG Oostende and KSV Waregem. Goethals was the successor of Urbain Braems at SK Beveren. 1979, Beveren was champion in First Division ahead of RSC Anderlecht which was coached by his namesake Raymond Goethals.
