Jet (band)
Jet was an Australian rock band, formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2001. For most of the band's tenure, it consisted of lead guitarist and vocalist Cameron Muncey, bassist Mark Wilson, and brothers Nic (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Chris Cester (drums, vocals). The group sold 6.5 million albums worldwide, releasing three studio albums: 2003's ''Get Born'', 2006's '' Shine On'' and 2009's '' Shaka Rock''. The band dissolved in 2012, but they reformed in 2016 for a run of shows before splitting again at the end of 2019. Sunset Sound Recorders is a recording studio in Hollywood, California, United States located at 6650 Sunset Boulevard. Background The Sunset Sound Recorders complex was created by Walt Disney's Director of Recording, Tutti Camarata, from a collection of old commercial and residential buildings. ''Dirty Sweet'' is the debut four-track extended play released by Australian rock band Jet in November 2002 on Rubber Records. It was re-recorded and re-issued on 6 May 2003 by Elektra Records. All tracks on the EP are also on the band's debut album, '' Get Born'', which followed on 14 September. Two tracks, originally on the EP, were later issued as singles from ''Get Born'', " Rollover DJ" (November) and " Cold Hard Bitch" (March 2004). Dingley Village
Dingley Village is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 23 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Kingston local government area. Dingley Village recorded a population of 10,495 at the . History Dingley was the original name before being renamed to Dingley Village in 1991. In 1856, Thomas Attenborough bought land in the area and named his house Dingley Grange, after Dingley Hall in Dingley in his native Northamptonshire, England. ''Shaka Rock'' is the third studio album by Australian rock band Jet. It was released on 21 August 2009 by Virgin Records. History The band began working on the album in 2008. After touring was completed for their previous album, '' Shine On'', the band took a short break. The album was originally thought to be released in late 2008 but a secret show was played in Melbourne in December 2008 only to debut new material. Various tracks from the album were played at this concert, including the first single " She's a Genius". In an interview with MTV's Ruby Rose on Channel 10's '' 7PM Project'', it was said two unnamed tracks were recorded in Australia, one in Melbourne and one in Sydney.
