Classic Rock
Classic rock is a US radio format which developed from the album-oriented rock (AOR) format in the early 1980s. A radio format or programming format (not to be confused with broadcast programming) describes the overall content broadcast on a radio station. The radio format emerged mainly in the United States in the 1950s, at a time when Radio broadcasting, radio was compelled to develop new and exclusive ways to programming by competition with Television broadcasting, television. The formula has since spread as a reference for commercial radio programming worldwide. A radio format aims to reach a more or less specific audience according to a certain type of programming, which can be thematic or general, more informative or more musical, among other possibilities. KLIF (AM)
KLIF () is a commercial AM radio radio station licensed to Dallas, Texas. The station is owned by Cumulus Media and broadcasts a talk radio format to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The studios are in the Victory Park district in Dallas, just north of downtown. KLIF broadcasts at by day, but decreases its power to at night to protect other stations on 570 AM. Its transmitter is shared with co-owned KTCK, on Ledbetter Road in Irving. It uses a directional antenna at all times, with a two-tower array.
