Istanbul Park
Istanbul Park (), also known as the TOSFED İstanbul Park, is a motor sports race track in the Tuzla, Istanbul, Tuzla district of Istanbul, Turkey. Designed by Hermann Tilke, it opened on 19–21 August 2005. It has been called "the best race track in the world" by former Formula One Chief Executive Bernie Ecclestone, who held the managing rights of the circuit between 2007 and 2011. The circuit was then managed by the Turkish company Intercity since October 2012 to March 2024. After Intercity, the operator was firstly changed as Can Bilim Eğitim Kurumları A.Ş. in April 2024 for 30 years, however its tender rights was cancelled in December 2024 by the administrative court. On June 2025, it was announced that the operating rights of this circuit was given to for at least 10 years, and the name was changed as TOSFED İstanbul Park. Tuzla, Istanbul
Tuzla is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. It has a population of 288,878 (2022) and a land area of 138 km2 . It is on the Asian side of the city next to the municipality of Pendik. Tuzla is on a headland on the coast of Marmara Sea, at the eastern limit of the city. The mayor is Eren Ali Bingöl ( CHP). The 1000 Kilometres of Istanbul was a sports car race held at Istanbul Park in Istanbul, Turkey. The race was first held on 13 November 2005 as part of the 2005 Le Mans Endurance Series season and last held on 9 April 2006 as part of the 2006 Le Mans Series season. T24 is a Turkish online newspaper. History T24 was launched on 1 September 2009. Initial staff of T24 were consisting of former ''Tempo24'' employees. On 29 December 2012, T24 started their YouTube channel and uploaded their first video on 12 April 2013. In 2013, author and columnist Hasan Cemal joined T24. In September 2013, T24 announced "T24 Okur Fonu" their crowdfunding venture that planned to collect funds from its readers. 2005 Turkish Grand Prix
The 2005 Turkish Grand Prix (officially the 2005 Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix) was a Formula One motor race held on 21 August 2005 at Istanbul Park, Tuzla, Turkey. It was the fourteenth race of the 2005 FIA Formula One World Championship and the inaugural Turkish Grand Prix. The 58-lap race was won by Finnish driver Kimi Räikkönen, driving a McLaren- Mercedes. Räikkönen took his fifth victory of the season after starting from pole position and leading every lap. Räikkönen's Colombian teammate, Juan Pablo Montoya, ran second until he collided with a backmarker and then ran wide in the closing laps, allowing Spaniard Fernando Alonso through in his Renault. With five races remaining, Alonso led the Drivers' Championship by 24 points from Räikkönen, while Renault's lead over McLaren in the Constructors' Championship was nine points. McLaren MP4-20
The McLaren MP4-20 was the car with which the McLaren team competed in the 2005 Formula One World Championship. The chassis was designed by Adrian Newey, Paddy Lowe, Pat Fry, Mike Coughlan and Peter Prodromou with Mario Illien designing the bespoke Ilmor engine. The car was driven by Kimi Räikkönen in his 4th season with the team and Juan Pablo Montoya who moved from Williams Grand Prix Engineering, Williams. Juan Pablo Montoya Roldán (; born 20 September 1975) is a Colombian racing driver, who competed in Formula One from to , IndyCar between 1999 and 2022, and the NASCAR Cup Series between 2006 and 2024. International GT Open
The International GT Open is a grand tourer-style sports car racing series founded in 2006 by the Spanish GT Sport Organización. It was a spin-off of the now-defunct Spanish GT Championship, but is now a distinct series featuring FIA GT3-spec cars modified from production road cars. Format The series consists of events in various European countries which feature two races over a weekend. In its first year, the races had an identical format to the Spanish GT Championship, with two 200 km races, the first held on Saturday and the second on the Sunday.
