I.O.B. Spezialauftrag' (I.O.B. Special Mission) was a German crime television series after ''Percy Stuart'' and ''Sergeant Berry'' that featured an American hero. Premise Mike Jackson is an American of German origin and was an FBI agent. Now he is the best agent of an international detective agency and works in particular for their location in Hamburg. The equipment of his Porsche included already in 1981 a video telephone. Occasionally a young Austrian lady from Vienna assists him. Reception The series was not as successful as "Percy Stuart". It had been produced by the same company, Claus Wilcke was again the star and there were also guest stars such as Iris Berben, but FBI agents weren't any longer as popular in Germany as they had been at the time of the first wave of Jerry Cotton films with George Nader. Herbert Lichtenfeld
Herbert Lichtenfeld (16 June 1927 in Leipzig – 11 December 2001 in Hamburg) was one of the most successful television screenplay writers in Germany. He wrote over 300 film scripts. Many of his scripts were successful in Germany. Life After graduating in Leipzig, Lichtenfeld moved into the Federal Republic, and there worked as a reporter on several newspapers. In the 1960s he became the television correspondent for Hörzu magazine. At this time he started to write radio plays and books. From 1968 he worked full-time as a screenplay writer. His first television film ''Deutschlandreise'' (German Journey) (1970, co-production between NDR and NRK) was awarded with the Grimme-Preis. A little later he began a partnership with the then still unknown director Wolfgang Petersen. Iris Renate Dorothea Berben (, born 12 August 1950) is a German actress and voice actress. Biography Berben was born in Detmold, North Rhine-Westphalia. She grew up in Hamburg, where her parents ran a restaurant. Berben has appeared in about 150 film and television productions since 1969. Jerry Cotton is the fictional character in a series of pulp magazine-type crime novels. The novels have been written by many different writers in German-speaking countries and in Finland over the course of several decades. Overview The novels center around the adventures of FBI agent Jerry Cotton, which take place in and around New York City. In 1954 the first novel appeared as no. 68: "Ich suchte den Gangster-Chef" (''I Sought the Gang Boss'') in the series "Bastei Kriminalroman". Claus Wilcke (born 12 August 1939, in Bremen) is a German actor who has played Americans in the German TV shows ''Percy Stuart'' and '' I.O.B. Spezialauftrag''. He has also dubbed many American actors including Elvis Presley and Michael Landon for cinema and TV. He has won several German awards. Career Wilcke started as a stage actor.
